An interesting turn of events...

Due to production issues, a number of copies of these steelbooks have been deemed unsellable and will therefore be scrapped. This leaves the up to date print runs on the below titles at the below quantities;

What can we take from this .... bad news for consumers, good news for collectors. These are the new print run #s for the steels unless I hear otherwise. Obviously Zavvi has sold through X amount of these, but wont be getting anymore. Thus there is only X amount of each of these print run #s.

Take that for what it is worth and if I get anymore news I will share. I thought everyone might appreciate this info and I was allowed to share so here it is at face value. I guess later this year some of those above will become quite collectible. Order your favs now....

All less than 1000

Lone Ranger a couple of hundred

Toy Stories 400ish each so will go quickly – Same with Cars and Up

Fantasia about 500 – But will be the rarest Disney Classic Steelbook in terms of print run

Brave 200 left but cancellations will come

I'm surprised there are that few Planes left. I mean... who's buying that one?

well you'd be surprised how much easier it is to sell a "new release" steel vs. a catalog at time of steel release. A lot more consumers (as opposed to collectors) will place orders as well due to current marketing buzz.

I bought Planes, and tried to like it ..... zzzzzzzzz - steel was nice tho.

I just bought Finding Nemo off the HDN Shop (yay shameless plug!) the other day, and I'm planning on getting Frozen and Cars eventually. I don't mind not having planes to complete the Zavvi Pixar line.

Planes is NOT pixar. If pixar made planes it would be more of a mistake then cars 2.

You're right. I try to think so little about that movie I forgot it was Disney.

Well either way it wouldn't be on my shelf.

Would be interesting to know, when it all settles down, the state of play regarding both Cinderella and Bambi steelbooks?

After the spate of slashed spines and postal damages (sure I wasn't the only one to get the latter) - how many from the original print runs survived undamaged?

Personally just want Cars AND Up - never seen Planes but heard it is pretty poor, ditto Monsters University.
