An interesting turn of events...

Due to production issues, a number of copies of these steelbooks have been deemed unsellable and will therefore be scrapped. This leaves the up to date print runs on the below titles at the below quantities;

What can we take from this .... bad news for consumers, good news for collectors. These are the new print run #s for the steels unless I hear otherwise. Obviously Zavvi has sold through X amount of these, but wont be getting anymore. Thus there is only X amount of each of these print run #s.

Take that for what it is worth and if I get anymore news I will share. I thought everyone might appreciate this info and I was allowed to share so here it is at face value. I guess later this year some of those above will become quite collectible. Order your favs now....

All less than 1000

Lone Ranger a couple of hundred

Toy Stories 400ish each so will go quickly – Same with Cars and Up

Fantasia about 500 – But will be the rarest Disney Classic Steelbook in terms of print run

Brave 200 left but cancellations will come

I expect to see these disappearing one by one over the weekend. A lot of collectors will be kicking themselves for missing out on these once they're gone.

So does scanavo just have to bear the cost of the bad batch? Seems strange for them not to honour a full order.

Its clearly all the damaged copies that have been returned, sent out and rereturned etc....

Some have been out 2 months or more so its clearly unsellable returns that have reduced the overall printrun. 1500 copies of toy story were trashed in the mail EEK!

Sorry bud but you're very wrong. Production issues can be far more than damaged product and Disney protects their brand like no other. ( as I'm sure most know)

I'm not surprised as a lot of my steelbooks have misaligned embossing. I bet that's part of the problem, in addition to printing errors.

Just a query on an anomaly . . .

Wreck. I know that Disney are very precious about their image; so why, I wonder are we enduring the 'spine slash' phenomena on some of their titles again - and the accusatory 20 questions with zavvi?!

If "Up!" is as limited in stock availability as those listed why isn't it in the "Last few remaining" listing?

Also a word of warning on possible damage: Received a Steel today in a thin card envelope again; so it appears Zavvi may be having box supply problems again!
