Update 8/5/2011 Sound issue info-thanks ralfers, who posted this in the thread.

"Apparently, something is wrong with the extended cut disc. Something with the audio.

warner has finally set up their free replacement disc program for the defect in the German audio with the extended cut.it seems that you don't have to send the original disc to get the revised version.they just need a copy of your receipt.the link here is provided by bluray-disc.de:

i realize that and have seen the earlier posts.i just thought there was new info regarding a replacement disc specifically which i do not see anywhere on Amazon.

Probably just needs some more time to get sorted, then we'll get a link up with the replacement info if that is the case. If its like the case with Gladiator steels, you'll only need to mail the discs.

I watched last night and didnt notice any noise in the sound. But i dont have a Surround Sound system. So do you only notice If you have surround sound, or it does'nt affect all discs? Thanx

Brandon, according to the Amazon.de product page, I think they said the manufacturer is still checking both language tracks. Once they know, they will inform customers if a replacement disc will be issued by Warner.

I am getting my copy tomorrow i ordered standard shipping from amazon.de

but they sent it to me by UPS and now i am getting a $16 brokerage charge

I have ordered before and it came regular mail anyone else have this problem with brokerage from amazon.de

I wonder if their starting to get sick of complaints due to the DHL shipping issues (returned shipments, refunds, etc etc). Not sure if it's a prevailant issue when they ship from Germany/UK to Canada, but maybe they are using UPS more now? No idea, but $16 for one Steelbook seems ridiculous..wow...

UPS always charges a brokerage charge. Even to the US - the difference is - when you specify Express shipping in the amazon.de system, they charge those fees up front to US customers. I'm unsure if that would work the same for Canada.

It is for USA members because a lot of us have been getting our packages returned when sent DHLGA (regular airmail)

I heard a person or two report back that regular shipping to them in Canada worked fine.

Regular shipping was ok for me until my most recent order and that's delivered in the end via USPS = no brokerage charges.

When I order the "Machete" gift set from Amazon.de I ended up receiving it from USPS. I still have not received my "SP" steelbook yet. I finally did get a shipping confirmation. OMG! what a gorgeous steelbook, i just got it, Germans did it again with this one... now i have the canadian and this one.. and both are gorgeous...before getting this i was thinking in keeping the one i like the most...now..well...i love both, they are so different in so many levels, i can't decide..i won't decide...this is the second one i'm keeping from the same movie, the other one was ironman 2 metal pack target edition and the steelbook from asia..then of course suckerpunch both are steelbooks...oh goshhh

Hi Ross - sometimes they do get steelbooks back in stock - returns that come back undamaged or things of that sort. But it's not a guarantee.

By the way - the prices listed on the amazon.de site are prices from 3rd party sellers - not amazon.

I really do believe that this will return to stock. After they sort out any problems there may or may not be with the audio it will come back into stock. Even Inglourious Basterds came back after many many months. I will bet my left Nad on this.
