I think we all need to get this out of our head - just because it is limited with a low print run it will become a grail. Well that's where most people are wrong.

So what do we define as a 'grail'? That can be a subjective definition.

To me a grail is a steelbook that is highly sought and very expensive. I didn't say 'rare' because that can be subjective definition.

Iron Man FS, I believe with an 8k print run, is a grail but it is not that rare as opposed to T2 2.0. Most collectors have an IM FS but won't let go of it which places emphasis on demand and higher price.

T2 2.0, believed to have a 3k print run, is 'rare' because it is hard to find and not many people actually own this. I think from this forum there are about 15 people I know that owns a T2 2.0 - and that isn't a lot at all. With IM FS it's going to be very high.

T2 2.0 is one of the original grails that has exclusive artwork worldwide. That means no other country has copied this.

T2 Korea artwork is pretty much the same as the UK and European releases but with the title on the front changed. The only addition is the slip cover and art cards to add some 'exclusiveness' to it.

There are already a lot of releases for this title already including the European and the T2 Version 1.0 to choose from.

For a steel to become a grail now will have to take something very special and it will take time. I don't see this becoming a grail for the four reasons:
1 - It's not rare
2 - Same artwork
3 - A lot of colletors are still chasing 2.0 or are happy with version 1.0
4 - Everyone on HDN has pre-ordered one lol

Even Blufans that are limited to 1000 are not grails yet but taking nothing away from them at all, they have gained in value.

I believe I owned one of the rarest terminator steels in the world. The Taiwan version :) Limited to 50 and the only difference was the price sticker lol and worth peanuts.

Terminator Korea - limited to 200. No offence to anyone but I heard all the hype and bragging about it and after some initial high sales, collectors claiming it become the next grail, now you will find it difficult to sell for $200.

I am not taking anything away from T2 Korea, it is a nice release and thought put into a slip cover, but all this talk about loads of copies being available tells me one thing? Everyone wants it OOP hoping it become the next grail and cheesed off it isn't OOP.

I'm gonna be blunt here, I don't think there be any future grail in a long time.

So let's stop all this silly hype and people unhappy that it is becoming available again with lots in stock and actually enjoy this release.

Couldn't have said it any better myself.

Sunnyx summed it all up!
Couldn't say better!!!

So, 1500 units for T2 Korea CONFIRMED.
Can we stop about this mather and discuss how awesome this release is gonna be ;)

Exclusive Slip.
Postcard.
Awesome embossing.

Agreed, this really is one of the best releases in a while.

I actually found the last discussion here pretty educational so i dont see why this was a bad topic...
But no matter... I cant wait to get this steel into my shelf = )

I for one can't wait to get this steelbook! Any idea how soon in advance of release date these things usually arrive with the stores? As in, when can we expect Choi to release real, in-hand pics? Assuming 15th June release date is still correct, can't be any more than a week away, can it?

I've made space on my shelf for this. Depending how good it be, may have to remove 1.0 off :( I can only fit 5 on the shelf and that isnt much space for so many terminator steels!

buy a bigger shelf then :hilarious:

Need a wider shelf lol, otherwise one will sit lonely on another shelf :ohno:

I think this will definately have to go next to T2 2.0 side by side comparison with the full slip covers sealed :)

I know Drum will have his displayed side by side both of his opened of course :naughty: :)

I'm glad you found this educational :)

I once was one of the 'big boys', no longer anymore, and hunted most of the grails down so I spent a lot of time following values, rare steels, grails etc..so I have seen so many steels come and go...

But this looks to be a very nice release that will blend well with anyone's terminator collection.

Although for me it starts now :hilarious:

This is a grail. No doubt about it.

:hilarious:

Whether it will be a Grail or not for me it does not matter much. I love movies and steelbooks and buy only that ones that I like. Japanese T2 2.0 never impressed me too much, except for a great looking slipcase, rarity and high value I do not see nothing more special in this edition (but that's just my point of view). For me so far the best looking release of all Terminator movies which we have already on the market was FS Terminator Salvation Ironpack (I love this one for a great unique artwork), but now will be this Korean edition :)

This Korean edition (except that there is only one disk) have everything what I need:
- embossing/debossing steelbook with great clean artworks
- embossing full slipcover
- collectible addition in the form of postcards
- Kimchi exclusive sticker
- reasonable price

So print run is not so important for me. The course of time when this will be already OOS will appear some new collectors who will want to buy it for sure and then they will have to pay more for this. I'm glad I'm in the right place at the right time, and can get right now this amazing looking edition (with hope that it will arrive to me in mint condition) and I do not care about anything else. Thank you Choi and Kimchi!

Well the only thing i got from that is that many people have cancelled their orders, and that they will sell all the cancelled orders as well as having sold the ones that aren`t cancelled.
Im not stubborn enough to say that im 100% sure im right... I just dont see the point in all the fuzz and paranoia... We dont even know how many are sold... So way debate this over 20 pages in this thread?

We dont know that we have been deceived and we are the ones looking stupid if it turns out we havent been. Why not wait with bringing Kimchi to the slaughter until we know the facts?
I for one dont see why this release dont have the potential to be a grail. T2 V2 japan is a grail... Its limited to 3000 and is a bad ass steel. As far as we know this one is even more limited, and in my opinion looks even better... From the pictures I have to say that this is one of the most amazing looking steels I have seen... That is of course if the embossing and debossing will be like described earlier in this thread, and that the full slip will be as described.

Didn't say we ARE being deceived. I said it SEEMS to deceptive. Don't wanna be negative and all, but there are some, shall we say concerns. Like why did Kimchi remove the "limited to 1500" from their website? Coincidence? Or Why has this not sold out by now? Compare this title to the ones ES release, with 1000 print run that sold out in hours. Does that make any sense? This title has been for sale since March for Pete's sake. I'd like to believe our man Choi over here, but that would violate rule No. 15628454B of section 181 of Stevo's rules to collecting steels. And I dare not do that!

I dont know what the next media will be... but imo a new media replacing blu ray and ending BD-steelbooks will increase value of rare steelbooks, not decrease the value. This is like saying the 1. edition of the book Don Quixote lost value because we now have books in digital media... Which of course is as far from the truth as one can come. Its only still increasing in value...

So which DVD steelbooks are commanding high prices?
