I so want this steelbook. It's next on my list.

I'm in Canada. Have any of you had good experiences buying from Amazon Japan?

I'm in the U.S. and I've had 3-4 packages arrived from Amazon Japan in the last 2 years. Everything has arrived in excellent condition and fast. Keep in mind that it's fast because you pay a kings ransom in shipping. With that in mind it's best to order several items in order to make the shipping costs more tolerable.

Thanks for heads up. I only want Batman Begins & Dark Knight.

I see an 'In English' link in Amazon.co.jp but then all the words stay japanese when viewing more info on steelbook. Do you use a translator add-on for your browser?

Google Chrome translates on the fly. That is the browser of choice for non-English sites.

Received Dark Knight & Batman Begins steelbooks today and everything was perfect. No dents, scratches and fortunately for me, no custom fees. :)

You are very lucky or maybe because you ordered 2x Steelbook. Try to get 5x and will see if don't get customs charge again. Maybe all the member here should ask you to do GB :)

its the one amz site u have to create a user/pw for again.

I think you have to register again cause my account in amazon in Germany, UK, france doesn't recognised in amazon.jp

You just ordering a few from amazon.co.jp? You'll probably escape without much trouble. If anything, Fed Ex likes to charge you a processing fee...let's say $20 or so. The actual duty paid to the USA is something like $5... :hilarious:

BUT, if you're ordering maybe 3-4 steelbooks (less than 10) you probably won't get hit at all.

Wait, what?!?! So it delivers via Fed Ex and they like to charge processing fee? How much fee if I order 2?

That is correct, you will have to create a separate account for Amazon.JP due to the fact that it is in a different format. The best way to do is by using Google Chrome so it will auto translate for you as you register.

I just got charged for 83 eur for handling and processing fees from DHL for a package containing only one steelbook The Dark Knight for which i paid 30eur (including shipping).....

Customs fees on this, from my calculations, would be 9 eur so honestly i think they must be out of their mind.... i mean do they actually charge 70 eur for papperwork??? What kind of business are they running?!

Needless to say i refused and sent the package back.... :/

Could it depend on courier company for custom fees?

For people who did, did the courier person asked for payment on the spot through credit card/money for custom fees? Is that how it works?

Ex - if you are in the US, no worries on the customs/processing fees. Amazon JP has switched to DHL Worldwide Express (hence the higher shipping charges) and I have received multiple orders (each of about 6-8 steelbooks) without having to pay DHL anything on delivery. I would be very surprised if DHL charge processing fee for a couple of steelbooks.

Something is fishy here. You might think about reporting this to your local DHL and/or customs office.

I know! Im gonna call them tomorrow and find out what the hell are they charging me.

I've been collecting for so many years and ive imported a lot of stuff over the years and i have never experienced anything like this. I find it absurd honestly!

Let us know because there's something bad here... how much was it declared on the custom form???

I got mine today shipped from DHL. I paid extra to gift wrap for more protection. They came in perfect condition and the steelbooks were absolutely mint. It only took 4 days to ship and I will be picking up more japan steels.
