I would like to order this from Amazon.jp but I've heard bad things about the way they package steelbooks.

I just received two steelbooks from Amazon.jp today (Matrix/Blade Runner) and the packaging had obvious damage to it. It was partially opened and just looked beat up. If I remember correctly, my Batman steels from Japan also came in a flimsy box as well.

Thankfully, the two steelbooks from today and three from a couple months ago were all in perfect condition regardless of the poor packaging.

amazon.de & uk pack the best. all the others should pick up on the practice. overall it would save money in having to deal in less returns.
 
Came in Damaged.....

I got my Dark Knight and Batman Begins in today. Not so great though. The Dark Knight has almost a 1/2 inch gash on the top of the spine. Batman Begins I wasn't sure if it was damaged because I couldn't tell if it was chipped paint or some sticky stuff going down the front from almost the top down to Batman's shoulder. As I started to open it I realized it was chip marks so I stopped opening it. Can I return them or get new ones since they are clearly damaged?

Update:
I contacted them via e-mail and waiting for their response. I'll see what they wanted to do. I only opened Batman Begins enough to see if it was damaged and haven't even opened the Dark Knight because it was easily viewed through the packaging.

so if i understand, when you pay customs fee with them, you fax the price and they refund you each time?

Haha, only on replacement items they shipped to you for damaged steelbooks NOT for your regular minty steelbooks. Again, this is an honor system too although I have heard instances where the Amazon JP CS has asked the damaged items to be shipped back.

Usually within the 24 hours period if on a weekday. A couple of times it took them a couple of days due to a Sunday. But I was in no hurry though :D

So I got a response this morning

So I had to do it all over again. :rolleyes: So I'm waiting once again for someone to get back me. :( They Only have 67 Batman Begins left in stock so they better get the ball rolling. :ohno: The Dar Knight has 982 still left in stock. I wonder why it's not selling so well.

I believe it was because Batman Returns was harder to source from Korea, therefore people bought the Japanese version instead. Only my guess though. Even the Korean versions are hard to find now. Both mine arrived today mint, the box was a right mess thoughEEK!

That makes sense. I'm glad your steels were all good! :ohno: My box was looking in pretty bad shape as well. Not sure if what happened to the steels were done in shipping or manufactoring ect. I just want good steels. I am still waiting on them to get back to me for the second time around since they were confused as to what I wanted them to do. At least I wasn't confused. Then it would be a major problem! :wtf: :D
 
Got the email Today saying the Amazon.jp has created a new order for me and that it would be sent out soon. That was about 4 am this morning and I got another email a few hours ago saying that DHL picked it up and I should have it in hand by Tuesday! :D
