Q) What is the purpose of this thread?
A) To discuss Ebay policies/issues

Q) Where can i find the Ebay Presale Policy?
A) Click HERE

Q) Can a HDN Trade mod help me with an Ebay sale/trade issue? Also why is there no 'ebay bad traders' list?
A) Simply put, no. To find out why, ensure you read the following spoiler:
please use this thread as a RESOURCE to ask your fellow members about problems you've had with a reseller or questions about e-bay.

do NOT use this thread to attack or refute other members. if you an e-bay dispute with a member here, perhaps it's best to approach a trading mod before posting? we don't police e-bay, but maybe we can give you a tip or two.

if members ignore these suggestions, then the thread might be locked for a couple of weeks.

thank you.

hey folks,

as a reminder what myself (and other mods) have continued to mention via private message, e-mail and other areas. we do NOT police other trading marketplaces like ebay, youtube, amazon and the rest.

there is ONLY a certain amount of information at our disposal and we do not have the resources in these other locations as we do on this forum - things that we can look at and evaluate.

having said that, there are trading rules on this forum that have been instituted for your own protection for trading transactions that happen HERE.

this includes the pending / active sales threads, the requirement of feedback posted for any new traders, our support ticketing system, the active investigations held by trading moderators and many other things we do not discuss openly.

we have long held that problems occurring on these other forums and marketplaces should be taken the appropriate authorities on THOSE websites.

many of you are established traders here on this forum and you should know all about the guidelines that are stickied in this section - including having new traders send first, getting tracking from the other party and proof of shipment, and what other precautions can be taken to protect your trading safety.

trading via ebay and their messaging system is against their stated policy and should not occur - and there are reasons why they have created that policy. you don't have protection of paypal or their listing system as a buyer or seller.

having said that, if there is trouble with an ebay seller or buyer, you should go to their website and report it there. if you are not aware of this process, follow the below link for more information.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/report-trading.html

so folks can feel free to chat about a seller or buyer that they are having problems with, but I can tell you right now - there will not be a "witch hunt" by moderators or staff based on one person's account of the problems or trouble they are having - and we limit the action taken for or against members here to transactions that occurred on this forum.

as stated in the thread title of our bad traders list - that list is for FORUM MEMBERS ONLY.

thank you.
Q) Where can i find the HDN Buyer Beware / Bad Traders list?
A) You can find the thread HERE

I just hate it when buyers use a microscope and then ask for a full refund and shipping both ways. WTF.

They say item is not as described in order to pull the postage refund card. I say they are abusing that one all the way. Far as I am concerned item is as described.

It actually makes me laugh because they only burned their bridge as that person now goes on my block list. Even funnier is I sold the item at a loss. LOL.

Almost all steel collectors are members here, even if they arent posting they joined up at some point in time. So when I have problems I just search their email addy in the forum admin database so I know who's trying to screw me over.

I offered to give him the refund and he wrote a nasty message saying that the extra poly bag I put on the steelbook was to hide a flaw because his previous steelbook from me didnt have a poly sleeve on it. LOL. I dont have time to put slips on 3000 steelbooks. He even opened up a case even though I offered to refund him.

this_means_war

I recommend everyone put him on your block list.

The worst thing is now I have to refund him buy the 8th even though I dont have the steelbook from him. That is what ebay policy is. I am done doing acutions on ebay. No more. BIN only and everything is going up on amazon.

I bet he would have a cow if I told him to keep it and keep the money. Those kind of people I feel like kicking them in the teeth.

I can't believe he actually acussed me of trying to cover up a problem. I think he is in financial stress as he sure as heck doesn't make any money on ebay just by looking at his crap. LOL. I actually feel better about all this. I wonder if he has to prove he mailed it back. I bet the one he sends back is not the one I sent him. But I dont care anyway. Its merely just a blip on the radar. LOL.

I wonder what I should do with his other item that he bought 2 weeks ago and hasn't paid yet. I don't feel like sending it to him now. I fully expect him to leave negative feedback, but that is nothing I can do about it unless I can prove he is harrasing me with his rude emails.

I dont honestly think he will have the stones to leave you a negative feedback, this is due to the fact hes got 100% feedback himself and what he needs to relise is if he dont stop bing a dick about things then theres nothing stopping you and 10 friends buying all his items and leaving negative feedback on all of them lol, yeah that sounds bad but being a seller myself on ebay can be a real pain and im tired of being held to ransom.

eBay REALLY f&cked up when they took away the seller's ability to leave negative feedback IMO. Now seller's basically are the buyers punching bag until they say otherwise.

I disagree somewhat. Back when sellers were allowed to leave neg feedback sometimes they would not leave feedback until the buyer left feedback. And if the buyer left neg feedback then the seller would also leave neg feedback, even tho it is not the buyers job to pack/ship/list correctly the items. It was just retaliatory. I once bought something, paid right away, and then left neg as the item was packed horribly, arrived damaged and whatnot. He then left neg saying how It took forever for me to pay, didn't communicate, didn't give a chance for him to make it right... blah blah blah...

Yes there are horrible buyers out there, but I think the good ones vastly outweigh the bad ones.

I am not sure if this is the right place or not to post this... but,

I recently won an auction on ebay. The item shipped promptly and arrived as described, but it was packaged horribly(box, but very little bubble wrap. It didn't even go all the way around the item) and could have been damaged very easily. Should I leave neutral or positive feedback?

I kind of agree with Adrenaline. We as the seller are providing a service by selling an item to the customer. If the customer is not happy with the service or product they have the right to leave negative feedback. So the responsibility is for us to make the extra effort in providing that customer service and described item to the customer.

Of course there are buyers who wish to abuse their position and scam you, but that is going to happy anywhere wherever you go so you have to stay on top of your game and be vigilant.

Ebay removed seller's ability to leave negative feedback for a reason. How would you feel if you were the innocent party, bought something that was not as described and ****, poor customer service, item not delivered? You would feel **** wouldn't you? What would be worse than leaving negative feedback only to discover the seller had left you negative feedback when you done nothing wrong? Ebay do remove negative feedback for sellers if they feel it is unfair.

It is easier for a seller to scam a buyer, than a buyer scamming a seller. There are more bad sellers than they are buyers. You are going to get some bad apples on the way so as sellers deal with it, learn from experiences. So it is more of protecting the vast majority of innocent customers and for Sellers to work that little harder to protect themselves.

That is why Paypal and Ebay favour the customers more as oppose to the sellers - there are more bad apples than buyers.

That depends, how did the seller say they was going to package the item. I would ask them first about how they packaged it and go from there. I think its a bit harsh to leave neutral feedback if it arrived as stated.

Actually, can I name the ninja member & eBay seller who I have an issue with? This member has plenty of negative feedback on his/her eBay profile (so it's more than 1 deal gone wrong). Almost 4 months & still refuses to acknowledge me and provide me my refund. The last time I got a response was when I told the seller I am also a Hidefninja member :hilarious:.

I dont see why it wouldn't. Go ahead so I can block them too.

Alright, the member is lenochek04, I pre-ordered Iron Man 1&2 from her. This was before I joined the forum, so I wasn't eligible for group buys. When the steels were released on launch day she told me she only got Iron Man 2. She asked me to be patient, so she could get Iron Man 1. I was patient, but so much time passed I just asked for a refund.

She agreed, but never actaully did refund me my money. When I asked her about the refund she told me the money would be refunded to my account by the end of the week. Eventually, she just started ignoring my messages. Her last excuse was she lost her mail. Seriously?, how do you lose your messages through eBay, I never lost a reply through eBay. She asked me for my name & when the transaction occured, AGAIN! How in the world do forget you owe some one a refund for an item you NEVER EVER SENT. The only reason she responded this time was because I told her I was also a Hidefninja member.

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS SERVICE ALMOST 4 MONTHS & STILL NO REFUND.
She currently has 2 fresh negative feedbacks. I would like to make it three, but 45 days have passed & I no longer can open a case or leave negative feedback. I have to find time & contact eBay directly, wish me luck.

Also, watch out for zsofidevil, he/she has the same problem. They take pre-orders & never deliver the goods.

BEWARE THIS VERY LAZY & VERY INCOMPETENT SELLER * FULL OF EXCUSES *STAY AWAY

I know I sound harsh, but you would be too if you were scammed out of your money (more than $160 from these shady sellers).

Isn't Lenochek04 and Elena the same person?

I don't think so, and Elena has always been helpful.

I think you may be confusing Olena and Elena

Olena is from Spain and I believe Elena is from Monaco

the steelbook came SEVERELY smashed on both sides whereas the box had no visible damage, so it was clearly sent out like that

She lists a TON of pre-order stuff. I will never do that even when I open my online store Jan 1st. I will make sure everything we sell is on hand. You cant gurantee a copy of a steelbook is mint if you dont even have it yet. DUH.

Have to disagree big time, yeah fair enough if a buyer gets an item thats damaged ect you as a seller can expect a bad feedback and you deserve it but on 3 different occasions i have had a buyer email me and say " i think i paid a little bit too much for this item, please can you refund me some of my payment otherwise ill leave you negative feedback". Now thats what im talking about when i say being held to ransom and if i had the power to leave them a negative feedback also i doubt i would ever get a buyer ask me this. Another way a seller loses out is when a buyer dont pay or doesnt even bother contacting you, yeah you can claim your fees back ect but i still think they deserve a negative.
