I've only got this on pre order at the moment and the gift wrap option in hope of better packaging, however I'm tempted to look for something else to go with it so it's not such a kick in the nuts paying so much postage for one item plus better packaging. Any recommendations, (reasonably priced)?!?!?

The best place for a secure packaging is Hmv.co.jp and not more expensive than Amazon.co.jp which sucks for item protection... (IMO)

Cheers I've just checked them out and ordered with them, they allow you to order more than 1 copy too.

With amazon I had 1 copy on order for 5300 yen (inc shipping)

With hmv I have 2 copies on order for 5700 yen (inc shipping) although hmv say shipping may go up depending on actual weight of item but they will inform you.

Seems a no brainier to me so I cancelled amazon and went with hmv :) hope it all works out ok.

From my previous experience ordering from these countries, YesAsia is the best.

Here is why:

It may be cheaper from HMV Japan or Amazon Japan, however you will ALWAYS have customs fees.

YesAsia send item as a gift (they have done each time I order) which means I have never had customs charges from them. Works out a whole lot cheaper. However, each to their own.

+1 I've ordered 4 of the new wave from YesAsia, which works out at around £20 each. I'm not saying I definitely wont get hit by customs, but I've ordered once from HMV.JP (2 steels) and was hit with over £20 worth of fees!! And I've ordered once from YesAsia (2 steels) which didn't get any fees. Obviously not conclusive, but I know ill be using YesAsia over HMV in the future :)

I just went to yes Asia and for 2 copies it was $66 or so plus $28 shipping whereas for 2 copies from hmv is £36.?!? I'm getting confused where to order now. Also anyone know the region code?

According to YesAsia it's Region A. Most Asian releases are Region A Locked.

Ah cool so when checking out with yes Asia do you click to add a gift note (for $2.99) to get it sent as a gift to avoid customs or just checkout as normal and hope they send as a gift. Plus I'm guessing free delivery is still a good option to use with them?

Sorry, I went with the free shipping, trying to keep the price as low as possible :) It took a little over a week from yesasia, which was only marginally slower than HMV.JP. By all means go with HMV.JP, but please do keep in mind, its extremely likely you'll get hit by customs and although I cant remember exactly how much it was, I remember the fees being more than half the value of the steels!!

Here's the respective threads to find out more about each retailer
HMV
YesAsia

One other thing about YesAsia, once you've made your order, they don't allow you to cancel it. I found that out the hard way recently! :(

VERY EASY for cancel order from YA. Just sent email to them - say want CANCEL the order. That it's :D

Tried that bud, but they said once the orders been made, they are unable to cancel it! It might just be a one off or because it was a pre-order, but they definitely wouldn't let me cancel :(

Maybe... It's my luck..:D

For most YA orders, cancelling is indeed simple. Its these Japanese titles that you cannot cancel once you've placed an order.
If you look under the important information part, it states orders placed are final
