I think I just did a sick burp (Or 'Vurp' as Penelope Van Schweets calls them!) when I saw that picture. It looks G1 too.

It's such a shame that Warner didn't do G2 with these steels.
I don't mind if there is a golden stripe above on the steelbook,
but then on a paper sleeve, so that the front Steel was clean.
If you put Gollum on that steelbook ....

I just knew. No way Warner France, jumps from poor to perfect in one single jump. They only progressed now from G1 to G2 which is a big step from them.

Pieter is saying that Warner France just now started printing G2 steelbooks - they had been doing G1 previously for blu-ray releases.

So expect them to create a "perfect" release is asking a little too much...it appears to me that unfortunately you misunderstood what was being stated.

These are indeed G2 sized.

At least WB France is moving in the right direction.

I cancelled my order 2 days ago, because I wasn't sure .. and after seen the picture of Gandalf ...
it's better to wait until I see some user pics of the Gollum Steelbook, I cancelled.
Not only that, but the UK version is much cheaper than the French ones. After I seen some pics,
I can always decide what to do next.

Never the less. I'm glad Warner will go to the G2. I own the Inception Ultimate Edition from France, and it looks out of order with the rest of the BR Steels that I have. Maybe I'm gonna re-buy that in G2 later on. I didn't knew when I bought Inception (December 2012) that it was G1.

Gee, these are very busy (front and back) and the banner is a big deal-breaker... I cancelled my order on the Bilbo one (going with the one from FS), but i'll keep the 3D (hopefully no banner) and the Gollum version, that I find good enough to even "ignore" the flaws.

Nope the contrast between the front and back is horrible, whoever signed it off needs firing! Covered why i think this a few posts back, another reason being no Hobbit! Just not a fan at all

Definitely a lenticular 3D steel. I wish the back art had been chosen more aesthetically.. What an absolute waste of a promising steelbook. Everything cannot be an Argo or a WFRR, but this artwork (back) has left me feeling disappointed

Maybe it's better then to forget that Gollum Steelbook and order the UK Steel instead.
