Sad , but the Studio is to blame not FS , they (FS) provide us with some awsome steels :oohyeah:

Yea I tried to google the studio to see if there was any way to get a replacement disc but they don't have a contact us at all. So i pissed and moaned on their facebook page.

Geesh...So this steelbook has issues too. I'm receiving my copy probably next week. Something to look forward too..:ohno:

The thing has issues down the line, these steelbooks both this version and the mockingjay version are notorious for paint chips. And evidently they shipped out a bunch of the steels with unplayable discs. To me this is a big black eye for the studio.

At first I was going to complain that this mockinjay version is not as nice as the HMV version since it looks more stretched but I just found out the HMV version has no inside art so it gets bumped up, but still nowhere as nice as the district 12 edition

As to your situation sirdizzy, as FoG says when you import you gotta expect the DVD and sometimes the digital copy to not work. Heck I'm in region A but because Alliance is in charge of this steelbook the digital copy can't be redeemed even in the US. It sucks that the steelbook has dents/chips. I would suggest contacting warner brothers directly and tell them about a faulty disk.

But I do have to open mine now to test the disk, though if it doesn't work it just gives me reason to buy the Target exclusive with extra content that I am extremely borderline on as it is

you just had sh^T luck on this one dude. Sucks but this is a part of importing steel's sometimes... you have to live with what you get.

Right I have all 3 versions of this steel in my hand right now. All 3 have there positives and negatives. So il give my view on them.

FS mocking jay steel: front is nice and colourful, but I think the mocking jay is to big and looks stretched. The back is boring. But the inside artwork is fantastic !!

FS district 12 steel: front looks fantastic with great embossing. Back is boring, inside artwork is nice but not as good as the FS mocking jay.

HMV steel. Front, is nice as I like the matte finish on it and the mocking jay seems a better size than the FS version. Back, is by far the best as it has the district 12 sign on fire, which is much better than a few words that on the back of both FS version. Inside, obviously terrible as no inside artwork, very disappointing.

Which version would I keep if I could only keep 1......

I'd go for the HMV version as it has both front and back art and a great finish and feel to it. Plus u can add your own inside artwork, so therefore it's my number 1.

Second I'd go for the FS district 12 version nice embossing and good inside artwork.

Leaving the FS mocking jay version last, as even tho the inside artwork is the best, it has the poorest front artwork.

This is Just my opinion guys, let me know what you think guys

I have both the D12 and MJ versions, because I do like both, but I like the MJ one better because it's far more colorful, plus you can't go wrong with flames on the cover.

This particular steel has given me the most headaches of ALL my steels. When I first got it (imported so no chance of an exchange) the paint on the front look all "oily"? It appears to hold "smudges/oily sections" and they can not be wiped/washed away - almost as if damaged by heat? It's not a glossy finish (at least not high quality). I don't know how to describe it but this steel would have had better quality if it had been a "matte" finish IMO. Then I pulled pff the J-card and there is several huge dents/damage to the back. Now to boot, I just opened it up and the inside plastic casing that holds the discs appears to be "corroding" due to oil? - even though I have had it plastic protective since day 1 - I do not open this one very much so it's not oil from my fingers....anyone else experience these kind of issues with their finish? This experience makes me worry about the future of my entire steelbook collection. Does anyone have any advice for what I can use to "wipe" the inside plastic to make it look "glossy/ non-foggy" again - so I can see the artwork?

Hopefully the "spots" show up in these pic:

Here is a pic of the "oily" parts on the front paint as well:

Anyone else have this experience?
