So, we have the "Fake" and "Steelbook Price Drop" thread, but we don't yet have the thread where you post listings with "crazy" prices for Steelbooks. If you see any, post them here and have fun debating. As per forum rules, please remain respectful with each other-one person's "high price", could be another's "deal of a lifetime" score. Enjoy! :scat:

Please keep discussion to Ebay and other retailers, not private sellers.

That T-formers is awesome. I've got steels that have some dings and it doesn't bother me at all. But, I got two of those T-formers now and was actually trying to fibd a sealed/mint one. I did however check his trade thread today and was slightly sad he had sold it.

Like I said I would rather own one than not and also it was a very fair price considering what non-dented ones are going for. Also with the savings I could buy somethin else on top of this one.

Haha quit making me feel bad :( na I just had to do it. Like I said earlier. I had to have one mint cause I know the price is just gonna keep going up. Hopefully it pays off!

Honestly I would have paid 100-110 on it myself as that seems the going rate, but I wouldn't pay 120 + 35 shipping. The price you paid was fine but the shipping was gouing (IMHO) to the point that it hindered my bidding.

And I am happy you got it, but after it sold I made a mad dash to HC :D

After the first week of my steelbook collection addcition I knew then and there that this is a rich mans game. If you get a passion and addiction for it, you can spend thousands per month every month easily without even blinking an eye. I know I did.

But you know what? I can honestly say that the first few moths were some of the funnest times of my life. Its a feeling that is almost impossible to explain. Kind of like a new drug for the first time or a new chick for the first time. LOL. Just want more and more and more!!!!

Yeah the shipping was insane that's why I wanted both. But when I missed the first I wouldn't let myself miss the second as well

Ok guys ... I gotta say it ....

Star Trek may be rare .... but that new cheap Star Trek looks 20x better! I've had them both in hand on 2 diff occasions ... so if someone hasnt had the new star trek in their hand (and I mean open .... cause it was amazing how awesome it was open then sealed) Crazy gloss on it. Yeah I'm known to keep stuff sealed, but i got one with a slight dent so they said keep it so I opened it. I was impressed. I'm rambling, but yeah buy the cheap one first ... if you cant satisfy the thirst with that then go after the plain jane white one. ;p

There is one other side to this. I see people say they wish they started earlier .. and I cant blame them, but the other side that most dont talk about in regards to these crazy prices is seeing the steels go for crazy prices and only owning one copy of them all ... Then you are always saying "damn I wish had gotten 2,3,5 of those back then" :p But its hard keeping up as it is with "wants" to afford getting much multiples ... I'm trying now tho. (just not with the big boys like chip does ;) .. but instead with ones I think will become valuable)

Sorry Wreck but I don't want Chris Pines face staring at me. :p But honestly this particular steelbook has nothing to do with the rarity for me. In fact rarity isn't my number one priority, hell I loved that Parnasus Media Markt one the second I saw it and contacted Cyan about an extra one. But there is just something elegant about the original Star Trek one that I am drawn to, its so simple/low key and because of that it appeals to me. And in no way shape or form am I knocking the newer version. :oohyeah:

I started from day one and got multiples of all of the holy grail steelbooks for cheap. I just regret selling most of them for peanuts compared to what they are going for now :(. I sold an Angels and Demons about a year and a half ago for $65. Really kicking myself now that it's shot up to >$200. I guess that's the name of the game though. You just don't know which ones are going to be rare and which ones will be common and float around the same price.

I see what you're saying. But you're never gonna hear me say, "sorry you only have one copy of a $800 steelbook" lol

I only got the Star Trek UK one cos I dont like foreign writing on my steels. Other than that, the German one looks great:)

Oh yeah, i went completely nuts when i first started, i still have just under $4,000 i'm paying off interest free on a card from my initial addiction. That's why i had to get away from this site for a few months a bit ago. Now i'm all better, and can only go after the ones i truely need, atleast so far. Now if i could just get up enough nerve to sell/trade some of the ones i really don't care about, to make room for new ones i want/need.........

Thanks. Yeah, i keep getting offers for some of them, since it's still too tough for me to outright price and get rid of them. Maybe someday the offers will entice me enough to part with some, but even though most have been reasonable offers, i still just can't seem to part with them yet.
