Any one spending time organizing your collection etc. ?

I expect with people staying home more now there may be a mini baby boom at the beginning of 2021.

Interesting you say that because I have some random thoughts.

So what will this mean for all those people who are having extra-marital affairs? With so many people working from home, or not working at all with all of the cutbacks, it will probably be a lot harder to find excuses to get out of the house long enough to continue an affair. Or for the spouse who was home all day while their partner was always working. Impossible now to have a visitor come over. So yeah I can see people getting sick of each other always being around instead of being able to fool around so yeah...divorce.

I wonder how much this is going to effect the ladies of the night? Less clients now that there is one more virus to catch?

Now that there is a recession coming, and people will probably want to be holding on to their money more, I wonder if sellers on eBay will be forced to lower prices. Or maybe people will unfortunately have to be putting items up for sale.

Literally everything you just said has crossed my mind. Especially those with a bit on the side.

Well China originally had over 300 divorces filed after their quarantine although some of them later retracted that. But it will be higher in some countries. Have you seen some British families and their way of living haha. Months of that isolated won’t be lasting.

And of course a baby wave too like you say.

I had heard / read that tests had shown the virus could live on stuff for 3 days , but 2 days for stainless steel and 1 day for copper. If true, I kinda figured so long as my packages are "overnight" then im likely good. Never the less some things I kinda been just opening outside throw the package part away immediately. Not perfect , but kinda helps my sanity / paranoia ha.

I heard Amazon was limiting shipping of items that are not essential so that the flow of those that are get priority. But I didnt know you couldnt order them.... but maybe they had to turn them off for time being elsewhere. I ordered a non essential from .com and it took a lot longer then norm to get it ... but i was still able to order. Amazon EU and Amazon USA tho are very different in that most of Amazon EU work under same umbrella so that might be why it differs. *shrug*

I heard that about Metal too although I heard up to 24 hours on stainless steel but then I suppose things like this might change where it’s all so new. But I think opening it all as you and Komor said and getting rid of the box and then washing your hands etc will be absolutely fine. Technically no different to you picking up a cereal box from a store

It's already much too late. Unless every city in every province, state and territory in every country shuts down right now all at the same time, this isn't going to slow down. It is going to continue to spread and never end. Even if every country shuts down right now it will still continue to be more cases and deaths form the people who aren't showing symptoms yet.

But this isn't going to happen any time soon. At this point the world is going to have to just let it run its course.
Sadly, there are many thousands of deaths still to come. People just aren't going to stay in for the amount of time that is necessary. This is going to take many months and people aren't going to be able to stay in or away from other people for months. People have to go out and get food. Others eventually will be running out of money.

Will crime rates go up? Will there be violence? People defending their stores and homes from looting?

When will the Purge begin? I'm only half kidding about this last line but not about the rest of my post.

Regarding Amazon: latest is that from this coming Saturday 28TH MARCH orders for Blu-ray steelbooks etc. will not be fulfilled but orders for video games will be. Go figure . . . would personally consider films a priority during times of mass confinement unless films are only one of many other items deemed 'non essential' that are going to be stopped.

So the best advice is:

When you receive your premium steelbooks in the post, open carefully, burn all cardboard immediately (including slipcovers-they are FULL of germs!) discard the steelbook as it's metal, and just keep the disc(s)!!!!

Problem solved ;)

You just know There’s going to be someone who reads your reply and freaks out thinking the actual steelbook will have it on it. Regardless of it being in shrink and another plastic box, inside another box for god knows how long lol

I've read a few comments but not a ton concerning packages and the corona virus.
I haven't opened packages for several steelbooks from other countries I gotten in the last week. I plan on using my U/V wand (which I don't use on packages normally) and will run it over the package and shrink wrap because I don't trust all the current information, this disease is to new.
I'm just curious if anyone else has any concerns about opening packages from other countries like Italy? I assume most Ninja's are not concerned.

Coronavirus can live on surfaces for days. But it can't travel through the mail, experts say

With stores stripped bare of household essentials, retailers cutting back hours and experts calling for social distancing amid the spread of coronavirus, many people may rely on delivery services to get what they need.

A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine on Tuesday found that coronavirus could be detected up to three hours after aerosolization in the air, up to four hours on copper, up to 24 hours on cardboard and up to two to three days on plastic and stainless steel.

This had led some to wonder whether those packages on their front porch could spread coronavirus. The answer seems to be no. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that the virus is spread through respiratory droplets and there is currently no evidence to support the transmission of COVID-19 with imported goods.

"In general, because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures," the CDC said on its website.

The World Health Organization offered similar guidance saying it is safe to receive packages from any area.

"The likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, travelled, and exposed to different conditions and temperature is also low," the WHO said in a Q&A about the virus.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said during a CNN coronavirus town hall that if the disease were to transfer onto something like mail, it would likely be a low concentration.

Here's what you need to know about sending mail during the coronavirus pandemic:

Should I disinfect my mail?
Joseph Vinetz, a professor of medicine at Yale and infectious disease researcher, said that wiping down mail may help with some people's anxiety, but there's no evidence that doing so would be useful to protect against coronavirus.

"That’s just not a viable way of thinking about this epidemic nor am I taking any special precautions myself personally or for family or my friends based on packages," he said. "Whether it’s a package that comes in the mail delivered by Amazon or a letter from the USPS it's no different than going to the grocery store or going to get take out food."

Amesh Adalja, a senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Health Security, agreed that the risk is theoretical and minimal.

"I will never disinfect my mail," he said. "And I don’t even know how you would disinfect your mail."

What if my postal worker has coronavirus?
Adalja said there's minimal risk of the virus living on a package for several days, but if someone were to sneeze or cough on a letter before putting it into your mailbox "that's a different story."

Still, he said the same best practices that work during flu season like washing your hands and not touching your face after you open your mail would solve this problem.

How are postal services dealing with coronavirus?

A spokesperson for USPS, which employs more than 630,000 people, said 13 of its employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The company is closely monitoring the situation and is following strategies recommended by the CDC, according to the statement.

FedEx has advised employees who are have flulike symptoms to stay home, and is temporarily suspending signature requirements and regularly disinfecting the equipment used to make deliveries.

Amazon said it is offering flexibility for employees who need to stay home and paid time off for those who are diagnosed with coronavirus. Prime Now, Amazon Fresh, and Whole Foods Market delivery customers also have the option of "unattended delivery" if they want to limit into contact with others.

UPS said in a statement Monday that it is temporarily modifying the procedures its drivers use for residential and business deliveries. In order to minimize contact with recipients, UPS drivers will validate and record the name of the recipient of the package instead of obtaining a signature. If an adult signature is requested by a shipper, recipients must present identification with proof of age to the driver.
