Really liking the steelbook, but I know that the blu-ray release was a little underwhelming in regards to mastering / HD quality (at least in the US a few summers ago).

Yes!! I've been hoping this would get a release.
I'm happy with the front art that's been chosen, Zavvi can't go wrong if they also go for the back art that @Geek Tragedy has mocked up

If that front artwork is final. then they couldn't have chosen a better artwork. Might be tempted to get this even though I'm not fan of the movie. Let's hope they don't ruin this with poor backside artwork and poor quality finish. I would be completely happy if the frontside wouldn't have any depossing either.
