so you are telling me that Kimchi can't handle to ship out 700 separate orders ...

I'm not the one saying it.

if set the limit like 1 per order, there is lots of parcel to ship out in a day because most of people has duplicated order too much. ask combined shipping to kimchidvd so it may cause delay on the shipping process

in case of a 700 copies print run for a big title as Thor i disagree

with a 1 copy per customer restriction this would also have sold out same day and at least more collectors would have gotten the opportunity to add this to their collection instead of a bunch of scalpers running away with those copies

Every collector has an opportunity to buy this. Nobody said collecting steels was cheap. I have missed out on a lot of earlier steels and I had to pay the price to get them just like any other new collector coming into this game. Its a collectable and meant to be rare and expensive. That is why a lot of people collect RARE steels. It feels good to have something that is in high demand.

If you want you can always buy the zavvi steel. Its exactly the same steelbook minus the extra goodies.

Totally agree! Want to join this game, follow the rule! Can you thinking about if you need working for 1000 packages for each item, how you feel?:movie:

Couldn't disagree with more. In reality, with the possibility of ordering 3 x lenticular and 2 x 1/4 slip, the entire run of 1000 could have been shared between just 250 buyers - for the amount if interest in this title has everyone had the opportunity to but this title. I'd say no

The argument that 1 per customer would have meant more packing time and possible delays is pretty mind blowing really - its not like Kimchidvd are the 1st to get copies of Thor out of the door, considering standard releases will have been out for the best part of a month before thus is released, a day or two here of there wouldn't make much difference.

Compare that to potential reputational damage from disgruntled potential buyers being forced to the after market to pay 3 x the original value - what would any business really want? The potential if up to a 1000 new or repeat customers or hundreds they may feel poorly treated by the way this was handled and never use Kimchidvd again?

You cant please everyone 100% of the time. If what you said was even remotely true then amazon and zavvi would follow suit. Its actually the other way around. Business are modeling themselves for the 21 Century and that involves bulk orders.

How come zavvi doesn't limit to 1 steel per order on their ultra rare exclusives?

Far from nail and head. If business wants to fail then they would follow your advice. Business wants to thrive they sell in bulk. Until you can PROVE otherwise my point stands and is backed up by actual profits from successful online retailers who sell in bulk.

Amazon and Zavvi are mainstream bulk buying retailers, Kimchi is a small one man specialist operation. They aren't remotely compatible. "If you understood business" you'd know that! ;)

It makes no difference. I sell in bulk as well. I am even smaller. Bulk orders is more profitable than singles. I sell a lot of steels. I know what is going on.

The problem is your letting EMOTIONS take over and not thinking like a true businessman.

All I need is some version of this bluray or dvd amaray to be released somewhere in the world with a lenticular slip. Then hey presto in the blink of the eye my bestbuy steelbook will have its custom lenticular magnet!!:naughty:

preaching to the choir. I was pretty surprised to see that none of the versions out there had a lenticular slip.

I'll never work people out. They moan about a Steelbook not having a title on it, so they opt for a release with embossed title on it only to cover up the cover with a magnet????!!!!:hilarious:

If business wants to fail then it alienates and drives away customers.

The simple example is this; I had planned to buy the Leon steel alongside the Thor but, due to the way things worked out, not only did I not buy Thor I also didn't buy Leon

Now, Kimchidvd may have sold their copy of Thor but their copy of Leon remains on the shelf. Instead of selling £60 of stock, they've sold £30

What's more, as I had always intended on buying an Asian release of Thor, rather than buying the standard Korean release through Kimchidvd I've instead bought the Taiwanese version through JSDVD

The net result is that kimchidvd may have shifted thier stock but they've also driven away a customer who may have bought more, straight into the arms of another company

But you're failing to see the bottom line that Kimchi have shifted all their stock (In record time I might add) and, I'm sure, are happy with their profit margins on that.

Their exclusives always sell well. If another is announced in a few months it will probably sell the same way.

As far as they can see, they're achieving what they set out to do. There is always someone else who will buy something that you will not. So at the end of the day, you're really only alienating yourself.

I think chip said it best when he said some peoples emotions are getting the better of them.
