That is fan created artwork. This will have the same design everywhere, unless Blufans or Kimchi can secure some exclusive artwork.

The back is bad, but the fact it's not full gloss is the end for me! I'm not paying £25 for a cheap matte worth no more than £15.

Lots of people blaming Zavvi and they do play a part by accepting this rubbish, but not seen one comment on Marvel UK's twitter or facebook page from anyone! Just people liking it! Don't like the steel, then have a good ***** at Marvel on their UK page... I did and I seem to be the only one.

Zavvi just finalized the artwork for Frozen as well & it too has changed & doesn't have the name on the cover. What is going on with no names on Steelbooks? it just isn't Disney, game Steelbooks are going that way too. Future Shop Battlefield 4 & Splinter Cell Blacklist don't have titles one them either just to name a few.

I've complained to them on Facebook and asked why they moved away from the awesome design they had on the website for the last few months! I also included a link to this thread on the off chance that they are interested in reading the thoughts of their customers!

There's a dedicated post by Marvel relating to this release on their official UK page and other than myself, I can't see any other comments complaining. :)

FYI-there's no 'easily' saying 'no thanks' to a powerhouse like Disney-it puts any retailer at possible risk of not being able to secure other exclusives. Just something to keep in mind.....

I do agree with that statement, but at the same time Zavvi have taken it upon themselves to be seen as the UK Steelbook kings, going so far as to do blogs on the collectors market. A market that judging by this they clearly don't fully understand and have done little research on. The original Thor release has now become something to strive for in terms of steelbook collecting for a great many people. It is a landmark and grail title and anything less than something comparable for it's sequel was never going to go down well. Zavvi maybe pleased with their re releases but they were poor copies, and releasing what is comparable to those and not the originals is just unacceptable on every level. They had a responsibility and duty to make sure this was a premium product, not an inferior one at premium prices.

You are right that often certain stores have no power other than to say yes just to gain the exclusive, but Zavvi have shown some weight in that department, just not with the greedy suits at Disney. HMV before the problems had full weight and would never have accepted this, and Disney would have had to go back and redesign. Zavvi need to make a stand sooner or later before they end up loosing money on bulk orders because companies like Disney do charge a premium for Zavvi to even get the items. Very soon they may find they have stock piles of cheap steels because fans have gone elsewhere to get premium copies.

Reading the comments on here and elsewhere Zavvi must have at least 40 odd cancels in the last day alone. That's not a good sign, as they know the same people may re-order when the price of this drops considerably just as it did with the inferior Iron Man 3. Zavvi would make more money and gain better respect by releasing slightly less and asking companies to start supplying better product. In the end it's about money to them, and continuing to release poor quality items will mean eventually far less profits. :)

People that are just shrugging their shoulders and still buying it for whatever reason even though they really don't like it are part of the problem.

$peak with your money people. It is the only international language that these companies understand.

Your correct this is a Disney decision and not a Zavvi

There is really no point complaining to Zavvi and we still want Zavvi to continue to release steelbooks especially Disney

The Artwork with Disney is fully controlled by Disney and its there decision on what artwork will be
Zavvi can request but its Disney who call the shots

I have contacted Disney by email about lack of Title on the Front Artwork and also more important lack of title on the spine on Thor and Frozen

They have given me a first response

Thank you for contacting Disney Guest Services! We have successfully received your query and will respond to you as soon as possible

Contacting Zavvi will most likely not achieve anything but if a lot of people email Disney them they might listen especially as its a steelbook

But with those floating heads all across the spine that rules out any possibility of it working on this release. :(

Not necessarily. The Spine can be printed to cover them completely as non transparent solid colors like the blu ray banner at the top of that Korean slip cover.

:Waits for lganz to say the two sides don't go together: :hilarious:

They don't....but I'd take it over what we are actually getting in an instant.

Nope they will just feed you a lot of rubbish and ultimately ignore you. I've dealt with Disney before and they really couldn't care less. They are such a powerhouse company they arrogantly just ignore problems. Retailers refusing their products however would seriously upset them. As Geek Tragedy says, hurt them where it counts.... profits! Trouble is as he points out getting everyone to join in is almost impossible.

Just get the version that suits you the most. If the steelbook design doesn't float yout boat, get a slip covered edition etc. I know that is not a solution for those who only collect steels but it is what it is. I'm happy this will be in my collection. I have far worse looking steelbooks than this.
