As much as I love 3D to be included, I know well that the majority would rather have 2D with 3D as an added disc "cost permitting" This was a seriously stupid choice by the studio and an even sillier choice by ES for accepting it. I really hope it doesn't sell well but at only 2000 copies it will most likely sell out.

Looks like it's Blufans for me!

I sincerely hope that these rumours of a 3D-only SteelBook release are not true! Why would they do such a thing?

All 3D releases should come with a 2D disc. No exceptions! I should be able to watch this film in either 2D or 3D without having to buy a second copy of the film to do so! What's the betting that their reason for doing so is "cost cutting"? It will remain to be seen when this goes live later as to whether this will be a £17.99 release or a £26.99 release! If it's over £20, then I would expect there to be a 2D disc as well as a 3D disc!

While I subscribe to the belief that SteelBooks should be the best version available, that doesn't necessarily mean that a 2D Blu-Ray disc should be sacrificed for the 3D disc. It's one thing to neglect a Dvd over Blu-Ray, but certainly not a 2D disc for a 3D disc! Just because I happen to own a 3D TV (I didn't have a choice, as you can't buy anything larger than 50" without it these days) and want a SteelBook, it doesn't necessarily mean I don't want the option to watch a film in 2D or 3D!

Entertainment Store and Paramount have really dropped the ball on this one, and significantly limited their consumer base and potential customers by making this 3D only! I would hope that the feedback of the community can get a U-turn on this and get them to also include the 2D version, as only offering 3D is unacceptable and limits me to watching the film on only one TV in the house!

I just hope that whoever the Entertainment Store liaison is here fowards our comments to Entertainment Store! It's just a shame that ES don't have their own Facebook / Twitter account, or else I'd be complaining directly!

Cock up for sure! If Entertainment Store go ahead with this without saying something, then this will only tarnish their reputation even further. They've already had several cock-ups in the past, and this will only lose them customers rather than attract them. Paramount on the other hand should know better, and of all the releases to pull this stunt it should not be one of the biggest movie releases of the year!

If this gets released with only a 3D disc, it will only encourage other studios to pull the same trick. If they think for one second they can palm us off with a SteelBook with no 2D disc, then they'll only exploit it and we'll have more forced onto us! We need to make a stand right now and show them that this is not what we want!

I know a lot of us will probably buy it anyway, but that doesn't mean we have to be happy about it! Of course I will buy it, but I will certainly be complaining to Paramount and Entertainment Store afterwards if they don't add a 2D disc before release!

Well, we haven't yet had it confirmed that the 3D disc wouldn't play perfectly fine in a 2D Blu-ray player. Several Blu-ray 2D/3D single disc combos have been released before.

I would presume a 3d film with so much CG would fill a Blu-Ray and there'd be no room for a 2d version. But what do I know. I live in a cave. :)

This is a big fail without a 2D version included, with more than one TV set up in the house it would mean buying more than one version. Unless the steel is not going to be opened then it might as well contain no discs at all

Wow what a shock to wake up to.. they must realise a hell of a lot of people don't own a 3D tv.. I have a 3D player but two perfectly good standard tvs so I won't be upgrading my tv anytime soon.. so this one disc thing does not help me at all. When the change over from vhs to dvd came about they started phasing out the vhs releases in favor of dvd.. that I understand.. but at this early stage of 3D, phasing out 2D is crazy because its not about getting the film with better definition its just about preference to how you want to view a film.. even people that have 3D tvs say that they don't always watch the films in 3D. Who ever made this decision is just nuts to me and bloody money grabbing. I only hope that this reflects in the price for this steel, as I, along with many others will have to pay full price for two edition's of this film (If we still want this steel) paying double price for for 2D which they could have easily thrown in the steelbook for a couple of extra pounds. Think I'll be keeping my italian pre order after all and will buy this dependant on price:-( what a let down
