You guys are big fans of this movie, believe or not I haven't seen it. The artwork is simple but I kind of like it ... so I will be definitely getting a copy.

You aren't alone...I don't think i've seen this either.

I tend to avoid films with any hint of the word 'romance' in it :p

I remember people walked out the cinema back then (at a major film festival here in The Netherlands). A couple of years later True Romance was on national television, prime time 20:30. Nobody cared about the violence, as it was accepted by then. A blast from the past, I am in.

True Romance is a classy movie. I remember having to travel 50 miles with a mate to see it at Leicester Square in '93, because it wasn't showing at my local fleapit, and I'm so glad I did.
It's also arguably the last time Christian Slater was in a movie worth watching!
The ES art looks to be the same as the special edition DVD slip-case that was released years back, as has been noted.
It's a little unimaginative, I'd have preferred one of the mock ups on here or even the cover from my old U.S Laserdisc, but if it's a gloss finish with embossing or debossing it may redeem itself! ;)

FINALLY!!!! :scat: :oohyeah:

I've been shouting about this on the Steelbook Feedback forums forever!! MANNNNNNNN I'm so glad this is finally getting a release!!! most.neglected.movie.ever.

The laserdisc cover was pants! it's one of the few I was really disappointed with when it came out. It's also the same cover they used for both the dvd and standard blu ray with a touch of colour added.

Personally I would love to have seen the original theatrical poster art used, as so far no TR release has used it.:D

It might just be rose tinted spectacles with regards to the Laserdisc cover-I'll have to dig it out and take another look. It's a touch on the blue side isn't it?
I agree about the original movie poster, that would of been nice!

The standard amaray art isn't great either. This is blah. I don't think gloss can save this turkey, or if it would even be better than flat. This think was just pasted together in 5 minutes or less. I think they grabbed a donut and coffee during that 5 minutes.
