You are now looking at $400-$450 for a used mint like new, and a brand new sealed like brand new one for like $600-$1,000
they go for about £30.00 -£35.00 not sure what that is in dollars

Yes, exactly the same - no difference at all.
I guess it should be cheaper to get now they did a second run. Still available on amazon.de @ 44 euro + shipping.
an open one in great condition just sold on ebay for $82. So you can use that as a base if you like.
Yes, indeed. I find this is a good benchmark, often I really do not know how much it's worth. eBay prices recently looks a bit odd. Maybe due to it's limit to items that you can post, hence it looks like it's rare and prices started to go north or even reaching the sky high.
Top-I think some sellers attempt to cater to collectors that are more about the 1st edition (which in some cases is more desirable), but in the process either deliberately mislead, because their item just happens to be the 1st one released, but is not really more valuable,or they just don't realize that not all 1st editions carry the same weight for collectors.
