That's the spirit Kelly. See the **** we go through to get our fix. I do the same thing. I pre-ordered all of mine for instore pick-up, but I know they will screw it up, so I will just be there at opening on 5/29. Then I will just have to get credited for my on-line purchases.

I must be a fool for doing this again and I'm probably going to regret it in the end but I broke down and ordered the three LotR steelbooks again. Of course I'm probably going to get shafted again but my desire for steelbooks I can't help. I'll probably wind up getting there again and they don't have a clue what a steelbook is and look at me like I'm some kind of ******. EEK! So far all my experiences with Best Buy have turned out to be disasters. So, I'm already expecting it on this order to start off with so I won't be too upset when it all falls apart. :ohno:

You are not a fool but a true persistent steelbook collector! You shall be rewarded my friend :). Perhaps you should call again to confirm they have picked your order before you leave for the store. Hang in there and keep us posted!

I love your avatar! "The Lonely Island rocks!"

Back from Best Buy with the "Book of Eli" and "V for Vendetta" Steelies. Got them opened up,and they are mint, free of any ding's or scratches or dents.
They had the Father's day display with several copies of each.I told myself I would only get V and Book, but I want to go back and get "BB" and "TDK".....really badly.....trying to control myself....

Haha yeah Rick, what we do for our obsessions. But it sux seeing everybody on here enjoying in on the fun of these BB steelbooks and I can't because BB is a ****** when it comes to getting anything right. So we'll see what we see. Talk about hoping against hope here. :ohno:

I am in the same boat as you, we never even got ghost rider so while everyone else gets to enjoy new steels I have to just sit and envy.

I sure hope they improve on there reliability because I would like to order more from them in the future. I'm just praying that this time it works out. :ohno:

It's not a bad deal really, $14.99 for each. I went on Amazon and they have the extended edition trilogy of LotR that comes to $48.99 and after tax on these at BB it comes to $48.68. A very close tie almost. Albeit they aren't the extended editions but they are steelbooks.

I made the mistake of stopping by Best Buy on my way to go grocery shopping and left $50 poorer:) They had them all in a display and all for $14.99 each. I picked up both Batman movies and Clash of the Titans. That brings my total to 7 of these steelbooks.

my BB had a display set up with about 10 of each of them available plus random ones scattered where the rest of the blus are. I picked up the 10 I wanted, but will likely go to the BB near my office on Tues cause of better tax. Might pick up the hangovers and return the Book of Eli.

mine did too, but they didn't have that many though, at least not put out. There was about 2 to 5 left of each of them except the Batmans which they have a ton of, and Book of Eli had 1 copy left.

That extended edition trilogy comes with 15 discs, though. Kinda blows the steelbooks out of the water in terms of content & value. But than again, like you said, they aren't steelbooks.

who knows I know the BB by my job got like an extra 10 Underworlds which they did not previously have

And heres a funny anecdote. The guys at my BB who work in the movie section were apparently waiting for me today. Cause when they saw come in today the one guy who knows I like steelbooks was like oh you're here we were wondering if you were gonna show up today and then they walked me up to the display. Like genuinly excited I showed up. I had like a 5 minute conversation and they were like we had no idea, did you. So I told them that it was on the boards (here and another) since at least thursday and I directed to come to hidef

Seen that display at my BB as well. Looks nice to see the word "Steelbooks" in a Best Buy!:scat:

I just did a massive price adjustment for the 21 steels I bought on Friday. My $414 bill got reduced by $81! :oohyeah:

How did you get your money back? I bought 2 films off BB.com can I go into the store and see if they will give me a $10 credit? Or do I need to go through BB.com?

why would they sell these for just $9.99 each when they have just put them out there?

im beginning to wonder if i should hold out and then get them. im new here incase you havent guessed lol.

You can go through BB.com by email or call them on the phone for the refund. Or you can return them in store and re-buy them if they have stock.

I picked up the 3 LOTR's, both Batman's, GoodFella's, Inception and Shawshank Redemption. I cold not resist The Town Digibook for 14.99. I placed my Japanese Inception, German Trilogy and French TDK/BB steels on ebay to cover the cost. It feels really good going to Best Buy which is like 1 mile from my house and having a problem of not buying too many steels. I am trying to resist the urge to go back for more since it looks like we have some nice US releases to look forward to next month.

For those in SoCal, Woodland Hills and Northridge both had these out in their custom displays. Northridge only had about half of the Steels but WH had them all in stock. These two stores rarely, if ever, put stuff out early so I would guess its safe to say all BBYs have these displays out.

I picked up GoodFellas and Last Samurai. Would have gotten Shawshank, too, but the six in stock all had the same dent on the bottom, so I passed (for now).

Already have Inception FYE, Eli DE, Titans DE, and Batman Begins, Dark Knight, Matrix, Vendetta, 300 and Sucker Punch from Canada. Not interested in the others.

Its pretty cool to see such an abundance of Steels in Best Buy. I'm hoping they continue this trend and release more and more new titles and catalogue titles as well. While this wave was a nice start, I'd rather they release new and/ or unique steels in the future. And I'd prefer they be high quality (embossed, inside art, etc.) even if they cost a little more. I'd just hate for the trend to be reprints of past Canadian runs.
