i just called my best buy to ask if they have these in stock, im so sick of their employees asking me what is a steelbook, and then they talk to me like im crazy after i explain to them what it is

give them the SKU.

here it depends if you are a collector or just want to buy it to upgrade your regular one, 10 for shipping it's not that bad at all if you want something really bad, in this case you won't regret it sin V for Vendetta is such a beautiful steel n the inside is awesome, besides you can order some other suff to reduce shipping...then again it's just me

I bought 10 last month and had to do 4 returns, cuz they kept coming damaged. Abslolutely no protection at all. What makes me mad is most of them were in this US wave. I wasted a lot of time. I did order KickAss from them to give them one last chance.

I do.

But you know what just occured to me about this wave and no inside artwork. Think about how much fun you can have customizing interior artwork.

You want King Leonidas kicking those persions down the hole yelling "THIS IS SPARTA" - you got it.

If you want him throwing a Spear at Xerxes - you got it.

You want Evie dressed in her schoolgirl outfit - you got it.

You want Sweetpea giving you that look - you got it

Hell if you want Dr. Manhattan's big naked :ass: starting at you you can have it.

I for one am gonna have a good time with a few of these.

I can understand the appeal, just doesn't do anything for me. I have passed up ebay purchases and trades because of custom artwork.

Has anyone noticed some small paint Chips/scratches on LOTR (all 3) about 1/4 from the bottom and/or top on the front or back cover very close to the opening edge?
I did in store pickup for two sets today and they all looked fine when I checked them in store but then I got home and re-examined them and saw that both sets have these marks in the same place one set was acceptable with only pin sized marks only on the front but the other set was worse with larger marks and on the back as well at the same position as the ones on the front. I looked at the set that I bought on Thursday and noticed that those copies of FOTR and TTT also had these marks. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this or if I should just try another BB store

bc, sorry it took me a while to dig this picture up as I am away from my home computer but I took this picture the first night and I think this is what you are talking about:

It appears to be a manufacturing defect (some is to be expected for a maiden run) but I am not sure if this happened as a result of the shrink wrap or from the actual printing process. If the latter, then one would expect to see it in all copies at the same spot.

That didn't work for me when I called one store, even when I told them that it says bestbuy exclusive. The moron still said its just the regular blu-ray. Minimum wage, minimum effort.

sack, simply order online and schedule to pick it up from that store and see what happens. If they have that SKU in stock, you will get an email confirmation to go pick up from that store. Once there, if it is before 5/29, someone might give you a hard time about it but bring your printed email to show whoever and let them figure it out. Be patient and stay calm while they figure it out. A good body language is critical when in a Best Buy store

Once again, we are all part of a new movement here - to help Best Buy refine their entire process of putting steelbooks on shelves for us to browse and buy. And this includes customer service so this will need lots of patience and understanding from US collectors. The more time and experience they gather, the better the entire process becomes.

I am going to wait to tuesday to pick them up at my local store that has them on hold. Heres to hoping there is either a upgrade and save program starting sunday or streamlined prices ($14.99) for all

I'm pretty sure if the prices are lowered, Best Buy will refund you the difference. An Upgrade & Save would be nice though.

They finally did become available for pre-order, so I ordered the three LotR steelbooks and I received an email telling me they were ready for pickup. I drive all the way there and when I got there I presented my paper to the service person for pickup and they looked high and low and could not find any yet it states online and in there system that they have them. After spending an hour there and no luck finding them I was like, just refund my money because this company sux and I'm tired of having to deal with your haphazard ways of service. Every time I try to make an order with them something goes wrong.

It's really strange because Future Shop doesn't seem to have these issues and there owned by Best Buy. I'm giving my business to Future Shop and BB can go shove it where the sun don't shine. Anytime BB gets a new steelbook, I'll go to Future Shop instead. At least I can depend on them to come through.

I am so sorry to hear of your terrible experience with Best Buy my friend. I don't work for them or their consultants but I do want our economy to get better for all of us. So it is important to me to see Best Buy (and Future Shop) succeed and stay open. I know exactly why the staff at your store could not find them because they kept your order in the locked cage for pre-orders with release date in the future. All released pre-orders are put out on the pick-up shelves for customer pick-up. But in this case, the BB personnel who picked your order saw the future release date and put them in the locked cage to prevent releasing them early. This is standard procedure for them.

As of today, the entire wave is set to the 5/29 release date online and they will not release these orders until then. Hopefully things will be better then going forward.

I just picked up Inception, Sherlock Holmes, and Book of Eli. Sherlock Holmes and Book of Eli also say "Made in Denmark" on the bottom left corner on the back and Inception has it on the bottom right. The plastic wrap says "Disc Made in Mexico."

On the steelbook itself or the J-card insert? I have looked on the steelbooks themselves only but not the J-cards.

Whenever I try to pre-order on bestbuy.com I get.

"Item will be shipped to the store."

I drove to all 3 of my bestbuy's non of them had the steelbooks out. One guy mentioned they would be out sunday.
