A new wave of Steelbooks coming to the USA, due for release on May 7th 2013-appearing at multiple retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Barnes and Noble, in-store at Costco, etc.

Small update:

actually about 3-4 titles will have inside art.

Nobody knows how amazon.com ships steels yet. Is it going to be mailed in a bubble envelope?

Their packaging is excellent. Each steelbook is put in its own individual, sturdy box. Then those individual boxes are shipped in a larger box containing them all.

I have mixed emotions when I see the picture of the racks of steelbooks in a retailer in the OP. This is the surest sign that steelbooks are going mass-market, which is both good and bad for seasoned collectors. It is now impossible, and expensive beyond reason, and therefore, unaffordable, to buy every single release like people could just 1-2 years ago. We enter yet another chapter in the evolution of steelbooks, as the picture in the OP tells a different story to each one of us, depending at what stage we are at in steel-collecting. I have no idea where this hobby is gonna take us to by the end of 2013, let alone 4-5 years from now.

someone said already Batman and Batman Returns don't have a inside art. That leaves only last two Batman steels. Wreck said 3 or 4 titles have the inside artwork.

If the above is correct and Batman and Batman Returns lack inside artwork, i'm a little worried for the UK versions. Fortunately the UK has a recent track record for having inside artwork except for a handful of releases, so let's hope it isn't the case this time

I'm 99% sure Face Off doesn't have inside artwork. One was partially ripped open, so I peaked in. Seriously what else has interior artwork? There isn't much left to be confirmed.

Braveheart has no interior also which isn't surprising as Gladiator goes hand in hand.

Unfortunately, that's all that appears to be coming out stateside lately (apart from ZDT) USA & Canada seriously have slipped lately. The UK is trouncing them as far as quality and quantity are concerned. I have had 90 Steelbooks arrive since I flew back to the UK @ the end of September, 70 of them have been UK releases and almost all are vastly superior in quality to the US/ CAN releases.

I beg to differ, your just thinking post bestbuy wb wave. Sherlock Holms Game of Shadows, Underworld, Ghost Rider, All the Disney Metal Cases, ZDT, Django, Total Recall, Latest Resident Evil, Bourne Trilogy, and thats just off the top of my head. All of those had interior art. Now if your talking matte vs glossy. I think thats a whole lot of "meh". So considering the US has just got into the game now that there is a G2 Factory. We're doing a bang up job as far as im concerned. Exclusives, you only list ZDT, but we have had our share with these bestbuy waves that are exclusive art Lol. IE; Hangover Part I.

Canada on the other hand, has slipped.

For Georgia Ninjas,

I spoke with 3 Supervisor's at the following locations:

- Stockbridge Walmart Supercenter Store #745
- Lithonia Walmart Supercenter Store #1340
- Marietta Walmart Supercenter Store #5390 (The Green One)

And they all stated, they will be up on displays for sale tuesday. These 3 locations verified they have them in store. For better details when calling or going to Walmart request to speak with the Supervisor of Electronics. Looks like the Georgia Walmart's are sticking to street dates but most likely the majority should have them.
