I received lenticular copy last week and opened it a day after. Not too fussed about minor imperfections. Besides I don't often look at the back of steels anyway :hilarious: so I wont be bothered by it

Congratulations both for totally missing the point.

Because this is a limited print run(in fact with any print run) it would be impractical to press just a few more cases, so it would be practical to press the entire run again, and distribute out to the purchasers whether they had opened them or not. I remind you we still don't know if anyone has a totally mint opened copy.

During the conversations Kevin said that this option is impossible (did you miss that part)?

So the conversation took a different track to try and find a solution that would be acceptable to all.
No, I do not think I missed the point. It was rather presumptuous of you, or anyone for that matter, to expect a second printing over a few leaked copies with relatively minor flaws. If you have been collecting Steels for any length of time, you should realize that there are always risks of damage, and not every seller is an Amazon -- especially not individual members organizing massive group buys for strangers.

Again, going forward this should all be about finding a solution that is acceptable to all - those who have opened their's, and those who plan to keep them sealed.

Secondly, if you choose to keep yours sealed, that is entirely your perogative, however, don't expect to be compensated for additional risk that you take on your own account. If you choose not to open it (a silly venture of its own, I might add) you should reliquish your right for a damaged replacement if it is not obviously damaged.

At this point there is more photographic evidence do damaged copies than sealed. If members could keep posting their images (damaged or otherwise) then this will help clarify the situation.

Posting inflammatory posts will not help and just serves to wind people up

Posting additional images really does not make any difference whatsoever. In the end, it doesn't matter how many copies out there are damaged or not, all anyone will care about are their own copies.

If you are unwilling to open your copy to inspect for any damages, you do not deserve a replacement. OCD collectors will panic as soon as they catch wind of even one copy having damages. If you are reselling to someone else, then give them the same options -- either refund your purchase, or accept it as 'Mint sealed'.

A 'Mint open' SB is far more rare than a 'Mint sealed' copy. I have refused buyers in the past because of this.

The only exception to all of this would be in the case of a printing/manufacturing/packaging error that affected all copies, which does not seem to be the case here.

I don't agree with that at all. When you pay around £50 and wait months for a Steelbook, it should be perfect, no excuses.

From your points above I guess you are not collector - just someone who buys SBs.

For all those true OCD collectors, here's the printing issue I mentioned in a previous post.

I have exactly the same marks on the front cover of my 3D slip. They are covered somewhat by the lenticular. But they probably run the full length of the slip.

I'm glad you posted this. It makes me feel a bit better, I thought I was being super OCD by noticing it.

ye ye ye.. now everyone is so pissed about their POSSIBLY damaged steelbook that they feel they DESERVE a free additional steelbook.. which will of course NO WAY go straight to ebay like with jack reacher entertainment store

i detect absolutely no hypocrisy here!

well no.. you dont pay 50GBP because its supposedly a better product (in the end all steelbooks are made by scanavo), but for the work and costs of a few PRIVATE PEOPLE which have to invest massive MONEY and TIME in order for this to happen at all.. zavvi is cheaper because they can produce those steels in a lot larger scale

i cant imagine what a disaster this is for blufans if ppl ask for full refunds leaving them to sit on hundreds of steelbooks they paid to produce ><

if this rly happens this might've been the last steelbook well see from blufans

my suggestion is keep your copies sealed or get over a few silly scratches.. they're now aware and i bet future releases wont have this problems anymore..

Thanks for the suggestion hatredhorror, but I think I'll pass on your advice.

If a lot of them are damaged then surely its a scanavo issue and they should foot the bill for replacements and shipping?

I would imagine that they (not a small outfit) could consume the cost and learn from the mistake of **** QC?

I don't think anyone should accept a damaged item unless it was sold as such.

I'm not speculating here, I'm talking about the confirmed damaged copies that Kevin has said would be replaced.

Was really pleased to receive my copy on Saturday, but I bit the bullet to open it this afternoon. It really is a lovely steel, but alas, I like many others have a number of problems. The front has LOADS of hairline scratches all over it and the back...

Yeah, I'm a bit OCD, so these have really bugged me out.
