Was really pleased to receive my copy on Saturday, but I bit the bullet to open it this afternoon. It really is a lovely steel, but alas, I like many others have a number of problems. The front has LOADS of hairline scratches all over it and the back...

Yeah, I'm a bit OCD, so these have really bugged me out.

EEK! so bad...

Thanks for the suggestion hatredhorror, but I think I'll pass on your advice.

If a lot of them are damaged then surely its a scanavo issue and they should foot the bill for replacements and shipping?

I would imagine that they (not a small outfit) could consume the cost and learn from the mistake of **** QC?

I don't think anyone should accept a damaged item unless it was sold as such.

I'm not speculating here, I'm talking about the confirmed damaged copies that Kevin has said would be replaced.

it'll be impossible to determine who caused the damage as everyone will accuse the other

and a few scratches visible under certain lighting wont qualify as damage anywhere outside this forum

it'll be impossible to replace all copies.. so my suggestion is to use the most likely pretty low remaining stock for replacement.. and the rest either keeps their copy or ships it to the respective hub from where they are again sold as "damaged" copies

Well regardless to who takes the blame, its not the end consumers fault or IMO should it be their concern.

A lot of people paid in good faith, what happens now will determine if I ever buy another BF release

I don't think they will wash their hands of (in fact they have said the opposite) yet you seem to stating things as matter of fact, when its just speculation.

I'm sorry. Scratched paint work is damage no matter what you buy. I personally would not accept scratch paint on any new item full stop.

how do you expect them to react ? what do you think would be fair ?

yeah, you could return your copy for a refund or get something like a 10% discount.. certainly not a new free steelbook

dents and scratches are damages for everyone. Would you buy a TV with lots of dead pixels ? Or a keyed car ? I don't think so.

When zavvi send steelbooks with scratches under the cardboard, lots of people send the steelbook back for a replacement. Because Blufans are private people, they shouldn't have to worry about their product ?
You said that it'll be a terrible loss for them, but they knew the rules of the game before starting to sell steelbooks.

They didn't send mint steelbooks, and I think that the customers shouldn't have to accept to deal with Blufans mistakes.

In a reasonable manner that addresses the issues.

Why not let them tell us what they can do rather than you tell everyone else (what you think) they can't do.

They told us that it`s impossible to do complete new Print.

Well,we`ve got to live with the Offers they will be giving us.

Each to their own-take it or leave it.

They can`t please everyone

Extra cases are limited as well. It is impossible to reproduce the steelbooks again. I will talk to Blufans for the possibility of the refund. if not , at least i will try to suggest the credit for any your future Blufans orders. But you will have to keep the steelbook sealed for the return. For your opened copy, you can only have the exchange case option. For other members who are strictly OCDs and haven't got their orders shipped, please tell your hub hold on sending your orders. Thanks for the cooperation!

There are two solutions to the issue:

1) a free case exchanging and all expenses are paid for if you have opened your copy.

2) if you haven't opened or got the steelbook and are worried
about the possible scratches, please return or inform your hub with "Do not Ship" and you will be given a full refund.

The actual exchanging work will start at the end of Sept.

And Face/ Off will be improved in packaging to ensure the worry-free.

Due to some unfinished issues for WIR, the delivery for Face/Off and GI Joe will be slightly delayed.

If you have any issues with your WIR, please pm me your problems directly.

Thank you all for your cooperation.

It was previously mentioned there may be a possibility of credit against a future purchase. Is this no longer an option for those who want to keep their sealed version ?

Again, thanks for all your help with this

Mine hasn't shipped, but I do want one in good condition. I am worried about damage (thats true of everything I buy)

Can I still accept the one I have waiting to be shipped and get a replacement case if it is damaged? Or are you now saying that these are damaged regardless?

case meaning steelbook case? they will replace the actual steelbook if we open it and turns out to be damaged? i always open my steelbooks for myself so this would be a proper solution if they will replace the steel itself.

If I were you, I will go to solution 2.
Since the replacement case is limited.

Thanks

For all those true OCD collectors, here's the printing issue I mentioned in a previous post.

Here's the same printing issue, but mine are on the back and front.

Anyone else got these issues?

I know some of you will consider this to be nit picking and OCD gone into overdrive, but it is what it is. A printing issue, which could and should have been prevented.

nothing against you kevin so dont take this personally but...

wow sorry to sound like a downer but thats not winning solution to those who havent received their steels and for those who havent opened it... we spent 4 plus months waiting for this and we just to get a refund ??? or those who are keeping them sealed has to accept the fact that there is a very very strong chance their copy is damaged ?

i honestly like the part of a partial refund on all orders just for the lost time and those who are willing to accept their sealed copies have a 50/50 shot of being damaged can have a little piece of mind knowing they didnt spend $60+ for a damaged copy

it seems like the HUBS should just wait to get the replacements before shipping off the original steelbooks.this would save everyone a lot of hassle.i know this means more waiting but thats what its gotten to.

but arent blufans only replacing open copies with new open copies of their own ?
it doesnt make sense for hub masters to hold the sealed copies and send them all back for open ones... I do keep my steels sealed and this is a bummer. And i think kevin stated the replacement are limited so theres no chance everyone is getting another copy

I agree...if it´s high possibility that the steels are damaged I don`t want to find out when I receive. It would be best if the hubs could deal with this issue.

I am aware it will take more time and work for the guys involved, but I think it´s a good solution.

i didn't realize the replacements would not be sealed.for me it makes no difference.i thought they were going to print some NEW AND UPDATED copies and just assumed these would all be sealed.regardless,i need mint copies for the purchase.
