Looks like I've made the right move. I'm not getting this one and I'm getting 2 copies of the french one, you know, just in case ;)

As for the region free player, they are selling them at walmart for $60! Not worrying about regions ever (unless it's a region locked 3D movie then I'm screwed).

But the back of the UK version says region A/B. Is this not true and only plays on B?

Yep, 100% doesn't play on My players. So pissed about being mislead. I know I should break down and get a region free player but I love my ps3 for blus waaaaaay too much...:BS:

Many people warned that it was not region free.... oh well...maybe it will make you break down to get a region free player :) In this hobby, a region free is first thing that is a must-have LOL.... Anyone collecting steelbook should not ask about it being region-free or not :)

See, I guess I'm a different kind of collector. Region plays a big factor to me so I will always ask. Unless the ps3 gets a region free model, I'm good. Thanks

your call :) 70% of my steelbooks are imported just because USA rarely get steelbook.

Most of mine are as well but there are many region free and Canadian steels. I know I should get a region free player but until someone buys me one, I'm riding region a and free

Decide to keep my play SB rather than purchase the French version and so took off wrapper and to my horror found it had not one but two dents on the front cover, one in the middle and squashed in at the top edge! Was annoyed and so decided to send back and get the French version after all. It has just arrived and is definitely the nicer looking steel, both outside and inside, and comes with the very nice artwork book, even though it cost £26 with postage costs.

I'm in the process of buying one of these but i need to make sure that it plays on a Region A player. Can anyone confirm that it plays on a Region A player?

What Blu Ray player do you have? You should google it to see if you can change regions on it. Just for $h!ts and giggles, i googled my Insignia, and found it was BR region switchable and DVD region free :scat:
