No they wouldn't. They'd have been complaining that:

1. The go-live time was when a lot of them are at work/school/college
2. They were there bang on the go-live and still didn't get one - not fair
3. They opened it to everyone at once meaning people with faster internet got in first

There is no way Nova could have handled this to avoid complaints. The way it went down was seriously bad, but people that missed out would have complained just as vociferously regardless of why.

You're exactly right. If people feel strongly put their money where their mouth is and don't by from them. We can only hope that NovaMedia will learn from this and make modifications, but my thoughts are the next NovaMedia release will be identical. So what should we all take from this? If you want a release from them, put your time aside and know that its not going to be perfect regardless of company. Plan for the worst, expect the best. If you can't, go on a HDN groupby, its what they are there for. To Help.

HDN has had its own pitfalls with popular groupbys as well. Its the same story anywhere you go.

If you wanted this that badly then you would have tried harder. I was at work when this dropped. I work at a law firm and am quite busy all of the time. Even with the delay and work I still found time to get this. People need to realize that things aren't just going to be handed to you on a silver platter. Sometimes you need to put a bit more effort into it.

Worst comment i have ever across HDN. Everyone tried and some got lucky to get through Nova's server. Plain and simple.

I was not planning to get this release but it really felt bad for other Ninja who sat through this bloodbath yesterday and still couldn't secure one.

A blank slate protagonist is easily mistaken for being charismatic and aloof in my estimation. Add a stylish piece of wardrobe that stands out to identify that character and a subtle shift into how it deals with its themes - touchy feely gets as much screentime as the tough guy routine + music that services the mood you're supposed to be in while hanging with the dude - and you have the makings of a cult film... apparently. :D

Who mistakes a blank slate as charismatic?

And maybe people love the film because they love the style, cinematography, direction, score, music, acting, deconstruction/subversion of tropes, etc.?

Thanks, @Last Lizard and @lolwut, for your enlightening comments on the movie. Maybe I missed the finer aspects of the movie cuz I kept waiting for
a steamy love scene between Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan that never happened.
So I was utterly disappointed and thus the movie missed the mark for me. :D

P.S. Hmm, "subversion of tropes". Thanks, @lolwut, it's something new I learned today. Sounds really interesting. I shall be watching this movie again soon. :)

Hi Guys,

Im new to this forum and Drive was my first preorder experience and it took me 3 hours to place and order but it was an interesting experience. I love steelbooks so i didnt mind the 3 hours.

Glad you were able to get one. Bet you were excited to get it after yesterdays fiasco. Also glad to see you didn't mind the experience. You have to be strong inside to gut it out.

Its not ok for people be it at home or at work to be expected to spend over 2 hours or over 3 hours just trying to complete a checkout of an order
We all know with a high demand release that's very limited there will be some who will miss out and you will get an order in or it will be sold out before you get to complete checkout

What happened yesterday was a totally different situation
It did not matter if you had a day off and be at home with easy access to the internet be it fast or slow broadband or you had the ability at work to order if your employers allow you to do this and I doubt very much majority of employers would like to have employees spending 3 hours using the internet instead of working as most lunch breaks is only for an hour

What happened yesterday was a shambles from novamedia and no one should of have had to go through what we all experienced yesterday

If the servers capacity yesterday for Drive had of been correct it would have sold out in a few min and most people would have understood if they missed out and we would not have seen the frustration we all had to go through that should never have happened period

Its not that its sold out that is annoying people its the fact it was not possible to get your order in even if you had lots of free time
+ 1

Some of the people arguing "for" Novamedia in this situation are muddling the issue. I don't care that other people got in an order and I didn't. I care that the company told me, "log in at this time and you can order this release." But that didn't happen.

Even for all the faults that Kimchidvd's servers used to have, at least everybody could sit at their computer at the appointed time and within a matter of 15-20 minutes or less find out if their order was successful or not (or find out on the forum).

It took "hard work" and "persistence" to get this release? Give me a break. Patience, maybe. Hard work, no way. Novamedia just needs to own up to what occurred. They need to shut sown the international website or rent new servers or just come out and tell us that all of these releases will take 3 hours to order. Inaction and silence won't earn them any loyal fans.

I would personally like to thank Masterblaster for the GB-I spent most of yesterday in taxi's/on trains with no wifi and running around Bristol in meetings-even if I had a chance over 3-4 hours to checkout I wouldn't have been able to-thank you sir....& nova-judging by the wall of crap funnelling your way on this forum-you need to improve...

I want to say that i am so excited to be among the great people (HDNs) who share the same passion as i do, and I hope Nova will upgrade their servers in the near future.

Does anybody know if this release will use the existing US BD transfer? And what special features will it contain besides the booklet, post cards, art cards, etc.?

I hope they upgrade their response time to whenever the so called sh*t hits the fan, cause again this was an utmost Fiasco leaving all customers in the dark, while it was clear within 1 minute that it would be terrible.
