We would like to Apologise for the Poor service you received when purchasing "Drive Nova exclusive #1" on our online store last night.

We know how frustrating it is to have plans for an elegant night or morning unexpectedly be taken away.

Last night, both us and our service provider had investigated the problem.

We thought the problem had been caused by the capacity of the amazon web service. So we tried to extend but this had failed continuously.

On further investigation we have now found the main root to the problem. The maximum allowance parameter was set at 150 users.

We have now fixed the issue to allow more people to buy our product during the pre-order peak time.

We are 100% sure that the situation that happened yesterday will never happen again.

Your comments regarding the service you received at our store in facebook & hidefninja are very important to us. We want customers to enjoy shopping atNovamnm.com, so your report of a disrupted experience with us is very important to rectify.

Once again, let us express our deepest apologies. You deserve only the best service, especially when you visit our store.

We hope you will accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you had experienced.

To avoid such problems in the future, we are doing our best and allowing more time between scheduled events to not let this terrible situation happen again.

Its not a bad apology IMO. They went as far as explaining the problem. Compared to others like Zavvi who never bothered to explain the change of artwork on Maleficent for example. Despite all the turmoil the other day, I would rather support them understanding as a new retailer at times the learning curve is steep

The spooky thing is when the One Click Option went OOS, there was no problem ordering...

That's because people saw it was out of stock and gave up.

Thats what happened to me. 3+ hours of constantly clicking refresh for the 1 Click option, and trapped in the loop of trying to check out only to be directed back to the cart. Then I get the message "Items in your cart are out of stock" so gave up and went home.

I'm lucky in that I have managed to get what I want via another route, but I'm sure others had the same experience and haven't been so fortunate
 
After what happened with the Captain America Exclusive I was sure that Nova would have learnt to communicate out as soon as problems were discovered (I don't know how well the Lone Survivor Pr-order went). I was willing to try my luck at the announced time but luckily I had a meeting when this went live so I joined @Masterblaster GB. Looks like this might be my preferred way forward for these type of exclusives now (Thanks John and HDN for the GB). Without that I know I would be pretty peeved right now and I feel for you guys that have been mucked about.

As for Nova's apology, I don't think it's too bad as they do specify what went wrong but I guess the real problem lies with the speed of the apology and why they just didn't pull it for another day like they did with Captain America.

I didn't go for this so wasn't affected, but it's nice to see a retailer apologising in such a way, and referencing the true collectors on here - AKA their most loyal customers :thumbs:

PS - it'd be nice to see Zavvi do this once in a while for their constant damaged steel issues :rolleyes:

I'm curious, can any one answer how a group buy works? I don't understand how copies are secured. Do they call them on the phone and tell them to set aside copies? Is there a group of people with insanely fast Internet ordering in bulk? It seems like the people on here who ordered on the gb assume they're guaranteed a copy.

Group buys will have been ordered in advance. They won't be trying to buy all the copies when it goes live!;)
 
No wonder why it was a disaster.

Would be interesting to know how many users attempted to gain access to those 150 placements.
Thousands of traffic requests especially with refresh been done as in f5 would have been attempting to gain access and would explain why it was near to impossible to get to complete checkout and the site crashing and we all getting this

Until you got lucky to be one of the 150

When lot of people gave up it would have increased the chances of been in that 150
and then eventually get sold out it was luck if you got in

Ridiculous. For one, it still took over 40 MINUTES after the scheduled time for it to go live. Secondly, they should have realized immediately after it went live that something was wrong. They should've then went and cancelled the pre-order, looked into the problem and then rescheduled it for a later date. The fact that it took some people 3+ hours to place an order and then took Nova nearly two days to respond is absolutely unacceptable in this day and age. Very, very sad.

That's an extremely bold statement - hope they can follow through on their promise for future releases. What a nightmare this was.

They are 100% sure that the situation that happened yesterday will never happen again because they know now what was the cause of yesterday's problem. That does not mean there will never be some other situations happening due to some other yet unknown causes, me think. ;)
