This site has been up a while now and it is just another address owned by HMV Ireland. It isn't linked to UK stores and that is why they don't carry exclusive Steelbooks. For anyone who doubts this, the footer of the site states:
So what does that mean? The .co.uk domain and the fact all prices are in sterling rather than euro is kinda thrown off by the 'registered by HMV Ireland' at the bottom of every page.

I've just tried to place an order and it did let me get to the final stage with my UK address. Got free postage, too.

It doesn't mean anything really. You can still place an order at the site, it's just that it isn't the same HMV that operates in the UK that is all.

Looks like HMV Ireland will be the HMV site we were hoping for unfortunately, shame, as hmv Ireland are terrible, especially for sending me a kick ass 2 amaray instead of the steelbook.

Press release: 25.08.14 – HMV TO CELEBRATE BALLYMENA OFFICIAL OPENING DAY WITH DOOR BUSTIN’ DEALS
Source: http://blog.hmv.ie/?p=304

This announcement brings the total number of HMV stores in Ireland to nine, with stores open at Grafton Street, Henry Street, Dundrum Towncentre and Liffey Valley in Dublin; Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick, at the Quays Shopping Centre in Newry; Donegall Arcade in Belfast and most recently at Edward Square in Galway. In addition, there are now 46 dual branded Xtra-vision and HMV stores opened around the country.

My recent dealings with the HMV staff has made me decide never to buy a steelbook from them again unless I can get it no where else and I really want it.
The staff in the Stevenage shop which is nearest to me were in no way helpful when I asked for a replacement for my scratched Hobbit steel. Going back a second time as the replacement was even worse was an ordeal.
What is wrong with the disc they said, nothing I said but the Steel is scratched, it must be a bad batch but we will change it this time and that will be it. Opened the third one in the shop and it was scratched but not so much so I showed them, they just made me feel like it was my fault that it was damaged.

Muttering under his breath we only changed it as you are a regular customer..... Was a regular customer from now on

Never again

It was posted in the Exodus Steelbook thread, and hinted at here previously, but it looks like HMV are looking for people to run an e-commerce site. The following link HERE has details of the Jobs. I have looked carefully at the job description and I am unsure if this is referring to either Digital or Physical content (or both), but it is very hopeful we may soon have a proper uk HMV online store back.

Mixed bag, last steelbook I got online was not even sealed, no J card etc, may have been a return mixed with new stock. They did give me 5 Euros discount on the next order by way of discount..... May give it one more go, otherwise I will have to go to a store which is a pain as the nearest one is a train ride away!
