I guess I was lucky. Like many here, I assumed that "Memento" would be the same as their previous catalogue titles, "The Pianist", "Infernal Affairs" and "Perfume", in that there wouldn't be the demand that there is for the newer movies, such as "Rush" and "Snowpiercer". On that basis, I saw no need to get up for 6 am and rose at my normal time, eventually going on line just after 9 am and leisurely checking my e-mail and this site, before logging into Kimchi and placing my order for the Full Slip. A couple of hours later, it was showing as sold out!

Had I been aware that only 650 copies were available, as opposed to the 1,300 announced, then I would have been up early and logged into the Kimchi site well before the going live time, as I'm sure everyone else here would have done.

And therein lies the problem for all future purchases from Kimchi. No one is now going to take the risk of missing out on a release that they want, whatever the title or its provenance. From now on, we're all going to be sat at our computers and logged into our Kimchi accounts at the same time, waiting for the release to go live. And when it does, it will be the same sharks feeding frenzy as takes place for the more popular titles with all that entails, given how inadequate Kimchi's server is when under pressure. So, in future, every new Kimchi exclusive pre-order session will consist of slow computers, non-responsive commands, frozen screens, lost shopping baskets and failed payments! Not to mention much frustration and anger. Happy days!

As some people have already stated, these were the first wave at the $34.99 pre-order price, it clearly states on the website the price will rise for the next pre-order.
