- The steelbook illustration is by Krzysztof Domaradzki.
- The artwork for the slipbox was used previously for the Oldboy vinyl LP. It was co-ordinated by Nicolas Winding Refn, the director of Drive, and illustrated by Laurent Durieux. The director of Oldboy Park Chan-wook wanted one of our editions to feature this artwork so we reached out to Milan Records and illustrator Laurent Durieux. You'll be able to see more of the artwork since parts of the top and bottom were cropped out for the vinyl LP.

Ordered type A. I got an email saying the last time it was back was a mistake (my previous message in the thread) and they would notify us when it comes back but luckily you guys spotted it

This is my first direct order with plain. Do they mark for customs friendly? I put it in the note but just in case

They've marked all my shipments at $20 by default. We have free trade with Korea here in the States, so they really don't have to mark it down at all, but I imagine marking it as $20 is standard to all international customers.

Also, I've signed up on PA's page to be notified if/when a number of items come back in stock (this one included), but I never actually receive notices when they do. Has their "notify me when this product is available" feature worked for anyone?

As the Limited Box Set of Oldboy is unavailable for purchase, the Steelbook editions that are available on our store at this moment is your last chance to own a Plain Archive release of Oldboy in Blu-ray. We have around 30 copies of Type A and B.

Cheaper 2nd Edition could get a release at a later date, but it won't be internationally available per agreement between the Oldboy sales company and Plain Archive.

Both look decent and the purple works well but I'm glad I went for the other one. Plus it has an embossed title

Both look great! It would have been nice to see some embossing on the purple slip though. I also thought the Pink would be more vivid on the bed on Type A.

I agree, an embossed title would have topped off full slip B. It looks quality nevertheless.

After all the buildup, I feel kinda let down by the purple slip..nevertheless I will wait UK get in hand to really judge the product. Would have wanted their trademark artistic touch

lol they went full-blown red with type A? What happened to the color of the original art? Why not amend this from the off in the preview shots? I swear this release continues to find more and more ways to screw with people's expectations!

Have to admit I agree that the purple slip does look a little underwhelming.....hopefully there's some form of premium treatment on it

Slip B does look a bit flat. I'm hoping they went with a similar finish to Tinker Tailor slip B, which also looks a bit underwhelming in pictures, but is actually quite nice in hand. The alternating sand papery finish would work well with the two different shades of purple.
