does it have the rubbish finish like gremlins - where if you angle it wrong it looks really really bad?
Glad i cancelled now - this could have been a beauty, still looks ok, but a £7.99 kinda steelbook.
The picture doesn't have that see through effect, it does retain the colour. It's just that it looks dull and the colours don't pop.

But I believe zavvi just like other retailers (kimchi, blufans) do have the ability to choose from a few versions of artwork as well as finish with/ without gloss correct?
I may be wrong, but I imagine Zavvi are given the option to take X amount of a specified print run to sell. The remainder of the quantity is divided up equally among other retailers in other countries.

The design/artwork is already predetermined/locked down at that point.

Zavvi advertising silver steelbooks as white is like false advertising.

Matte finish is a joke for an image that features glossy elements.

Its the same artwork on the other countries listings Websites
The Artwork and finish has noting to do with Zavvi

This is a Warner release
Its released in
UK
Germany
France

Not neccesarily, I'm sure a lot of the time it's just one artwork that is offered from the Studios. Zavvi are only the retailer, they don't have as much of a say as you may think. They can give them ideas for the Steelbook but ultimately it's the studios that decide. I'm sure this steelbook will be the same one released worldwide.

Personally, I'm pleased with my copy.
Pretty sure it'll have its haters as well as lovers, though.
Certainly wins my award for worst use of glue on a j-card!! HORRENDOUS!!
Glue?? I've never had glue on a steelbook. Just that removeable 'booger' material that is like rubber cement...

Just received mine and I'm actually quite happy with it... great artwork all-round and good use of colours (the front isn't silver/bare metal as was previously mentioned by numerous people - it's a faint white/grey paint). It's the nicest edition I've seen for this film... the only downside for me is the fact it's not gloss.

A nice gloss finish would have transformed this from a good release to a great release!! Happy with it though..........

Tell me about it.

I would love, just for once, to see these complaints aimed at the manufacturers and/or home video depts, rather than Zavvi. I get a bit tired of the ignorance shown by some posters. The whole 'typical shoddy design from Zavvi' etc. is just stupid. Maybe those posters should go to the German thread and post 'typical shoddy design from Amazon'. Fine, bash Zavvi for their lousy customer service and sky-high pricing, but seriously, give it a rest for everything else.

Yes, I was hoping for white, but showing white for what ends up as silver seems to be standard on every website when it comes to steelbooks. We've seen this issue time and again so we should be used to it by now.

just cancelled my amazon.de order, thanks guys.
The lack of white makes it seem like a cargo plane and definitely not a cool, neat and bright spaceship. The back looks like a nightmare.
