I dont know how long I will do this, or if people have questions ... but I'll check this thread daily in case people have questions about steelbooks etc. I'll try to answer to the best of my ability from what I am allowed to say in some cases or just info you may not have seen me drop before in past threads.

One thing that is always a cause of frustration are steels without titles, now I appreciate for the simplicity of production what with some films having different titles in different countries, to produce one title less steel that can be used worldwide just with a j card for each release makes sensible business sense, but is it too much to ask for a title on the spines? Surely making a spine with the title on for each countries release would only cost pennies extra but would make a huge difference and would rid us of those horrible 'character spines'

It was a little more than double Thor.

Not sure on Paramount, probably a healthy stock tho .... if I hear otherwise I'll let you know.

@chipvideo being told the Paramount wave is much more limited then the Uni or WB ones ever were. For what it's worth .... Dont know about the rest of you guys, but my stores only had one small endcap cardboard display. So seemingly they'll be gone pretty fast on the good titles. That Top Gun might hold some good resale value FYI

@Wreck Hi Wreck, it's Probably a stupid question, but I am gonna ask anyways.

I collect ; Steelbooks + Amaray blu-ray(with or without slips) + DVD(Independent type movies only released on DVD).

As of Now they are all Separated, I have my DVD's alphabetized together and I have my blu-ray Alphabetized also separate from the DVD's.
The Sealed Steelbooks also are separated from the other types, they have their own unique place.

But with new Amaray blu-ray frequent new releases, I have from time to time to rearrange them to incorporate the new purchases to fit with the Alphabetized system I like.

Now here is my question;

Since I open few steelbooks, only occasional special ones, they have found themselves with me not knowing where to put them. But those Steelbooks that I opened, I thought to incorporate them alphabetized with the Amaray blu-rays. I was wondering if there would be a specific reason (that I would not think about) as to not mix them with the Amaray blu-ray ?

@Actarus you can mix them, but since not sealed if not in sleeves the continual sliding in and out of a shelf can cause some surface scratches ... etc. on bottom of case. So if that bothers you, put a sleeve on them. Unless you only watch those movies like once a year then just be careful taking if off the shelf.

I really wish I could do my stuff alphabetized but my OCD wont let me .... I do mine by packaging type then by actors and franchises within that. Then if none of that, Countries, or size or just some random madness lol

Oh I hadn't thought of that, true that amaray when I want to look at the slip cover, they are not too tight together but not as easily scrachable than a steelbook, and it's a pain to reorganized everything when you get new titles... maybe I can loosen up a bit and find a new way without having to reorganize everything. thanks for the advice I think I'll do one more alpabetization and after that will just add them starting on another shelf

what might be easier is organizing by genre ... so this way when you want to find a movie instead of using the alphabetized you just look at comedies or action then just have those sections at random or alphabetized. Might be less organizing then in the long run.

Or just go by studio ... whatever is easier in your mind to then find on your shelves.

I think by Genre might make more sense, or whatever I guess feels right... it's true that I would feel weird having Star Trek and after Stuck In Love on a shelf

I guess I'm a bit too uptight but I think I will however mix the few steels that I have opened and mix them with my Amaray slipcover ones... I guess I can not rearrange everytime I get new releases Alphabetically would be hell to push things over and move shelf when there's no more room on that shelf...

Thanks, just need to loosen my OCD :p

I would have a technical question though, how come steelbooks like Zavvi's MAleficent(is so light) and for Example CA2 Taiwan(is so heavy...), they both have slip covers in cardbord 1/4 slip, inside the little paper inside don't make much difference, both have 2 disks but the CA2 is heavy compared to MAleficent which feels much lighter. I read somewhere that there could be different layers of metal a steelbook can have made by Scanavo, would that be the reason ?

Wreck, any confirmation of the print run for Jumanji, all it states is it's an ultra run which we assume is 2k?

Also, any news on Zavvi releasing Iron Man?

Sounds more like Organized Chaos Disorder rather than Obsessive Compulsive Disorder!! :p
