I dont know how long I will do this, or if people have questions ... but I'll check this thread daily in case people have questions about steelbooks etc. I'll try to answer to the best of my ability from what I am allowed to say in some cases or just info you may not have seen me drop before in past threads.

Wreck, when Scanavo say their minimum order is 4k, could that be broken down into 4 different designs of cover for the same steelbook, so there's only 1k of each design?

Looks like Fox won't be supplying Skyfall to HMV and have pulled out. Real shame as UK version was the cheapest of all.

I don't know how steelbooks are printed, but I'm sure they would have to change some parts/colors on the printing machine, so 1 artwork = 4k

Not sure where to put this or if its been brought up. Plays universal steels have shown up on amazon Uk (serenity hellboy ect...) no release date yet or price. I'm guessing they are getting plays stock or maybe a new print?

Not reprints .. just remaining stock. So they should vary. Now ... if they sell well will amazon UK then work a deal for a reprint? It's possible. Hopefully not the case ... However we should at least know if the title goes out of stock for over one month then reappears.

I will make a post most likely tomorrow detailing all titles that are totally sold out from Play.

Personally I dont think they'll do this as they haven't ever done it before on amazon UK.

Very interesting to see if these appear for sale... my copy of both these has a scratch going from top to bottom on the spine!

cool interesting tidbit of news.

Star Trek got damaged back in the day but no confirmed number tbh. In the region of a few thousand units / a pallet load, as a result of a fork lift error!! The warehouse ended up destroying them as they were un-returnable and no good to send to customers

This wasnt a 4k qty release ; and the exact qty is not known ... but still a fun fact I thought you guys might enjoy.

Somewhat similar to the london riots that burned the remaining stock of Shogun and Metropolis. These however had much less qty.

1) Depends on printing lead times
2) Depends if going to other company after which to be put together with discs, inserts, shrink wrap etc.

ie. all depends. But its not uncommon for them to be ready close to 1 month before.

All the horizontals are gone/they wont be getting more etc. Amazon will probably be the one to blow through them for the most of what's left.

maybe. But regardless of whether it comes back in stock at Play or ends up elsewhere I think it'll be the next one to go totally OOS.

One which may have been asked before. What was the largest run for a Steelbook ? Not thinking actual #'s but title. Appreciate might be covered under NDA's though.
