So I went to the Walmart in West Hills at 7:30am and they had nine copies in stock ...

I purchased two copies which looked fine in the store, but when I got home I noticed they both had dings in separate places. So I went back to return them at 2:30pm and they were down to three in stock.

They were all mint but one had a tiny tear in the wrapping, so I picked up the other two.

So now there's only one left at the West Hills store and its in the electronics department. I checked up front by the registers but there were no movie displays of any kind.

There's nothing quite like heading out to purchase SteelBooks in person at a store, and we in the US get to do that so seldom. Here are my spoils ...

Got my copy today when I was there!!! The guy working there knew what I was looking for when I walked to the shelf.

~~Why doesn't this version come with the Resistance 3 demo like the normal??

Got mine today as well... I was extra cautious to get a mint copy. I'll save the pic for when I post a 'collection' photo, since there are plenty of pics in this thread.

I too was on the fence about buying it -- but the prospect of owning a US product put it over the top. Gotta support the US Steel industry. ;)

So I opened my SteelBook today only to find a nasty dent on the rear cover as well as shelf wear on two of the corners.

I went up to the Super Walmart in Porter Ranch to exchange it and found they had about a dozen copies in stock, half of which were in those hard plastic security enclosures.

I noticed several copies had small paint chips on various corners, especially on the inside where they connected.

Anyways, I ended up exchanging my dented copy and ended up with a mint SteelBook. Strangely, though, the customer service people made me open the new copy I was getting in exchange for the dented copy.

Glad that's over with. No more Walmart until they release their next SteelBook. ;)

I just opened one of mine, and the back cover has a couple dents. This stinks! Makes me wonder if the other one is dented as well. :(

Good point! Sometimes you really can't tell until you remove the cardboard and wrapping paper.

I totally agree with you guys. It would be great if they made those paper inserts a tad smaller and then included them inside the SteelBook instead. What gets me, too, is the glue. WalMart seems to be really excessive with it, too. I don't know why they need so much glue.

I exchanged mine today and they opened my replacement as well. All is good though, because I now have a mint copy! I tried watching this last night, but was too ticked off about my damaged steel, that I couldn't even watch the movie lol!

Glad you found a mint replacement. There's nothing worse than unwrapping a new steelbook and finding a nasty dent.
