So I finally got around to opening my SteelBook and watching the movie. I have mixed feelings about this film. Parts I liked and thought were fantastic, and parts I thought were a waste.

I think if they
dropped the parts of the first act where they needlessly introduced us to each character one by one in their personal lives, and dropped the sappy, melodramatic music (or changed it),
then this would have been a far stronger film.

However, now I now what the donuts on the SteelBook's cover mean. :)

:ohno:Walmart sent me an Amaray, eventhough order clearly says Steelbook. Happened to a few other folks as well apparently. I'm not a fan of Walmart stores, but now I have to scurry over there and hope I get a mint copy.

That's complete BS. Sorry to hear about that DB :(

My damn wal-mart had absolutely none of these steels.

I'm sure you already scoured the store... but just as a general FYI, my Wal-Mart had no special display for the steels. They were just in a normal end-cap towards one end of the department, that didn't even face the front of the electronics section, it faced the side of a dead-end corner. They were on the top-left slot with random other movies all around it, not even a special 'Battle LA' section... just a lot of randomness.

So they definitely aren't showcasing these things in any manner... at least at my local store. You'd think they'd be displayed a little more prominently, since it's a "Walmart Exclusive" and all.

Darc-yes, it was a pain, my store got none. A friend offered to check his stores to see if he could help, as I was trying to get one for another member here, too. In my experience products at my WM store are as bounced up as some others have reported and I've had better luck getting them shipped directly from distribution center. So I tend to order them online. However, though my order clearly stated Steelbook, I received Amarays and a partial refund, and they sent Amarays. I really want this as I enjoyed the film full force.I know I'll end up with copies somehow (I've also placed a new order, just in case), but it's a pain that this has been a bit difficult. Last time, when Resident Evil was released, they were not showcased either. I had to hunt around the whole store. They were stuck next to completely random movies, and then every one I opened was damaged. But alas, these are the risks of collecting, ha!

My Walmart.com Battle: LA came today after a week shipping and wouldn't ya know it...they send a regular blu-ray in the amray packaging!! Sooo I call the nearest store and explain the mix up and they pull one from the shelf and say come on down we have one for you! :D Shoulda just canceled my preorder when I first heard they would be in the stores in the first place. I got the last one and it was in good shape. The regular one they sent me came in a crappy thin mailer...doubt a steelie would have arrived in very good condition.

Received the regular blu as well. I got that refund also, so wasn't sure what to do. I ended up just exchanging it for the regular one. The lady at the country didn't know what to do, so she ended up returning the regular and giving me cash, and I gave it right back to her to buy the steelbook. I'm not sure what happened with the refund, I guess I'll have to look into that.

I ordered one online yesterday so now yall have me worried about what will show up. But I am hoping. You just never know the order page said it's "in stock" so I guess I will find out.

This steel has grown on me.

Looking at it up close isn't the best, as it has drab colors and the bland font... But viewed on display from a few feet away, it really shines and looks quite slick.

Yeah, my wal-mart is almost impossible to get help at most of the time. Thankfully, Andy grabbed me one from his local wal-mart, so i can save the trouble. Thanks again Andy!
