Hi All,

It looks like our former thread has become unavailable, so I am posting a new one. Feel free to post pics and share your worst experiences with damaged Steelbooks as received from retailers. I've stickied this one for now.

Thanks,
DB

Very old pics(may 4, 2011), made before amazon.de provide good packing for steelbooks.
All came damaged - dents, scratches, loose disc's.
Replacement also came damaged.
It was very hard time.

Last week I got the Play.com Star Trek in just a jiffy bag EEK! I looked over it with a heavy heart but luckily it arrived fine.

Not exactly the purpose of this thread but people really need to learn how to pack things.

Just go "Infestation" from amazon.de - It has already been used by another person, there are many scratches and also some glue from an old sticker...

I freaking want a new copy, if I pay for a new copy.. That's unacceptable.. This one got by far the most scratches I've ever seen so far.

But how do I complain? amazon.de > My Orders > Return this order?
First time I'm not happy with a delivery from amazon.de...

Yes, then there must be another option "received wrong/damaged item"
Then you can write down the problem...

Thank you MK50. I heard many times of amazon.de not requesting to send the item back.

Since the postage from Switzerland to germany will be about the same amount as the item itself, I'm asking myself if this makes sense at all. Amazon.de wants me to send the item back, paying the postage myself and then paying back this amount onto my cc-account, sounds quite "complicated" for just a scratchy crappy steelie

DO IT!!! As they seem to have sent you a returned SB, that is more than bad from them!
But there must be a link wher you can print the labels and everything for the return... so it is work, yes BUT i would say worth it as you do not want (and ordered!) a scratched and used Steelbook!!! And you also paid for a new one...
Tell them how disappointed you are, maybe then they will give another goodwill refund...

OK so it seems to get even wierder!
Sent ity back a couple of weeks ago like asked to and got my refund

Posties just turned up with a nice new one with no damage at all, Bonus!! :scat:

OK i got an email on how to send my bent shawshank back to them, does anyone else find these the most wierd conditions ever!!

By the way i didnt make the words capital for emphasis, that is as it was emailed to me

Here's how to return your PlanetAxel.com order:

1. Put the item(s) to be returned in an envelope WITHOUT any significant form of protection.
2. Include a simple note in the package with this note written on it: 'PlanetAxel.COM ******'.
3. Mail it to the address below, using the CHEAPEST possible unregistered surface mail method. We accept the risk of this non-insured shipping method.

I'll get a full refund and will not have to send the steelie back, as the price of postage is too high for an item I paid € 7.41 for.

Still not sure if I should add the steelie to my collection or just put it in the closet

Just had 2 Millenium delivered today from Amazon.de. One was perfect, the other was bent like a banana. Huge dents on left and right front, also spine dented in two places also front right bottom dented and back had multiple small dings. Well packed so this was in the warehouse and then put in cardboard. Have only just openned it so not had time to take photos which I want for Amazon anyway. Not a happy bunny. They will undoubtedly only offer refund but as I got at low price I want replacement. I have written them a very strong email demanding replacement and if they want it back they will have to send me a prepaid tracked label or equivalent postage first.

Here are just a few photos:
