I don't get why they'd put a border around the front cover if they weren't going to emboss it? Why not just extend out the artwork to the edges then?

Makes no sense at all. Maybe they planned to originally but then changed their mind to save a few pence? :dunno:

I really hope that the other versions are different. It's not likely I guess, but still possible.

haha.. So we discovered a shipper for the checklane that was full of the steelbooks. So instead of only having 6, we have closer to 30 at our store. I adjust my original estimate from 10k to a heck of a lot more that that.

Enjoy!

There were about 30 copies at the Sandusky, Ohio location (the majority of them located up front by the registers.)

FYI: A security tag is attached to the back of the J-card making it protrude (I wish they would place these inside of the Steelbook instead,) and I noticed small chips on the front covers (along the right edge,) and slight chipping / scratching where the Steelbook opens on a handful of copies.

Some of these have chips straight out the display packages. :(

Yup, it's really hard to find a perfect one because of the paint finish. I would say 90%.of the ones I saw had chips scratches.

Was there at open, interrupted a staff meeting (lol) and got the movie guy to open the box, since he hadn't gotten to the front of the store to put them up yet.

Probably around 30 of them in there, and I got two of the better ones...one with a paint chip and another with a nice scratch...had short conversation with the employee about trying to find a good one...and if I remember correct, he's the same guy that has told me in the past they should limit 1 per customer, so he wasn't very happy about me looking at them and saying, nope, give me a different one. :hilarious:

But very disappointing on the QC effort of these ones. :(

When it comes to steelbook releases, I found the best time to get there is a half hour after they open, and after they put up the display. If you go before they even put them out, they monitor you. Once they are out on display, you can take as much as you want and the cashiers will probably not say anything. At least that was my experience today :D

Sounds like they are real tight a**ed at your Target :hilarious:

A fair amount had paint chips, this is what happens when you have a black steelbook. But I wish it was a embossed border, the interior and rear artwork makes up for it. Happy to see it. Had at least 30+.

Why would you want them in side, leaving residue when trying to remove them as theyre an eyesore?

So my store had 18 on display, and then another 20 or so in the plastic cases where all the other blu-rays are. I was told they got 74 so they must not have unpacked them all yet. Of the 18, only 1 was basically perfect from what I saw. A couple had dents, and the rest had chips/scratches around the edges and the side that opens up.

Just came back from my local target. The store probably had like 50+ copies, so it definitely was "limited" at my target :hilarious:. Anyways most had minor paint chips, I probably stood there for 10 min looking at 30 steelbooks before I made my selection :/.

yeah same here. around 30 laying out in cases and most had paint chips on them. found 1 with the front not having a paint chip but on the back had some small paint chips. was the paint chips because of the cases they were in or was it a manufacturing issue?
