I think the key part of that quote from WhiteKnight is:

(G1 can be produced in NA, G2 is produced in europe)

The cost may be significantly cheaper to produce the G1s stateside and thus that's what we get.

Even though I don't mind the G1 size, I'm glad I got the UK version.

Hey there, Drum,sadly it's not FS that makes the ultimate decision as to what size the Steelbooks are. The studios have to approve them. X-Men was cancelled by the studio itself,not FS.

I know babe, but my point is that I don't understand how come Future Shop/Best Buy still accept to buy G1 as they are much less popular (I guess) than G2 blu-ray.

Maybe I just need to understand the fact (which it is) that DVD are still so much over the top compared to blu-ray's...

Guys, a lot of times the reason they choose G1 isnt even due to cost. (tho that can be a big reason too) but when you see a G1 pop up close to release, its more so a time factor as we're talking about a massive shipment if from overseas as opposed to it being made in USA.

I think this will sell well in G1 if the quantity is right ... its one title that many teenagers will be wanting to pick up who are not steel collectors. If priced right and ordered right, it should do well.

Nice artwork, I like it, although it doesn't come close to the German one which is still my favorite.
G1 is almost a deal killer since all of my steels are G2 as of now.
One thing I like is the price: $24.99 is a good deal for a new release

Not supposed to be out until next week, so I think it's a problem with their system.

BTW, one of the buyers at Future Shop indicated that this it was indeed a G1 case - I believe the artwork changed from their initial mockup and they indicated as much over there on the Future Shop forums - saying a design changed happened (when they first got it was G2).

Picked this up today at FS. It is G1 and includes 3 discs. $24.99 CND.

EDIT: Just opened it up and its only 2 discs + Paper Code for Digital Copy however the cardboard paper attached to the steelbook states it is "Future Shop Exclusive 3-Disc Limited Edition Steelbook". They really should have changed that before releasing it. Oh well.
