From IMDB:
From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team–the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
With: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector.

Was anyone else busting a move in their seat during this part? Or was that just me? I had so much fun during this movie and it looked damn amazing. James Gunn has quite an eye.
@RekLess LOL! :emb: Hell Yeah! Me and the wife were! :headphone: This movie was too DAMN Awesome! The most FUN I had in the movie theater! Can't wait to go see it again!

Ok, ok, I confess. I saw this three times this weekend - freaking awesome EVERY TIME! Did anyone else pick up these pins from AMC theaters?

I definitely was dancing in my seat multiple times during this movie.

Karen Gillan was still hot to me even as Nebula. My sister was like "she is a freaking bald machine lady...You have a problem."
If they give out an action figure, i will buy it at a high price!
Right with you on Karen Gillan. She is a super sexy blue and purple bald machine lady. Also, about buying it at a high price:

I saw it Thursday night first chance I had, Saturday in IMAX 3D (had to drive 80 miles to do so), and again yesterday in regular 3D. Even better every time. I figured I would like it, but I really, really love it. I want to see it again.

Been 3 times now and the one thing apart from the fact it's a stunning film that has impressed me is the 3D. Marvel aren't know for amazing quality 3D, The Avengers being the best of the bunch and even that's just adequate. The 3D in this even for a post production conversion is superb!

Finally caught this tonight. It's an example of a perfect summer blockbuster, something that's been missing for a long time in my opinion. Not only were the cast fantastic (every character, even the supports helped make this great), the script, story, visuals and soundtrack were too. I can see this being a regular watch for me in the vein of Indy, Goonies, Back to the Future etc. My favourite Marvel movie so far and I cant wait to watch it again.

Not seen this just yet but after looking at the trailer and seeing some large actors like Vin Diesel in the film I have marked it as a must watch and will be dragging my girlfriend along with me to watch this in the coming days. The story line seems extremely interesting and I am looking forward to how it plays out.

Having seen this on the first day of release in the UK I can not praise it enough, it's now in my top 10 movies of all time and No.1 Marvel film. The fact I now have to wait for a Blu-ray release is torture, I'll buy the biggest shinyiest collectors edition I can find ....... oh and that Hot Toys Groot and Rocket will be mine ;)

I've seen this a couple of times now (both in IMAX 3D) and the first time I liked it enough but didn't love it. Then after the second time I saw it I was able to absorb more and it's definitely a great addition to the MCU and I can say that I love it now. It's too early to start ranking it with the releases so far, I'll need a couple more viewings and to let the hype die down, but it's definitely up there. Not better than The Winter Soldier or The Avengers, but maybe third.

Although it's hard to rank it against what's come before since it's much more comedic and out there (in a good way), so comparing it with, say, TWS is difficult because they're different genres even while being part of the same universe.

And the IMAX presentation is amazing, the frame is used well and it's making me wonder what those shots look like in 2:35. Fingers crossed there's a shifting ratio release for this since Gunn made it to be seen in IMAX.

finally getting around to posting my thoughts, was a bit delayed due to some personal reasons. I have to say it may not be the best Marvel movie by Disney/Marvel (not counting the Fox and Sony Marvel movies) cause Joss is up there with Avengers but this is probably one of the most fun Marvel movies. Great that it wasn't so much of a backstory movie but they formed up and kicked some a**

Chris Pratt is spot on, Zoe has been great in everything she has done and continues her trend. I know everyone is in love with dancing baby groot and he is fun though I wonder since Vin Diesel was so excited to be attached to the movie but all they really needed to do is record his line once and just reuse it, just wondering if he will have some other lines in GotG2

Michael Rooker was actually very good and Benicio Del Toro had some good scenes as well

Just so you know:

http://comicbook.com/blog/2014/07/2...-groot-over-a-thousand-times-for-guardians-o/
Even though Vin Diesel’s character Groot only says three words during Guardians of the Galaxy, Vin Diesel didn’t only record the three words one time. In an interview on the red carpet of the Guardians of the Galaxy world premiere, Vin Diesel revealed that he said “I am Groot” over a thousand times in doing his voice work for the role.

And

Vin Diesel, he's so talented! He's a polyglot six times over! Or at least he can say "I am Groot" in Brazilian Portuguese, French, Russian, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese (and English, duh). The line, a reference to his character in "Guardians of the Galaxy," was dubbed in each language for the Marvel's international marketing campaign. But you can see Diesel utter the line with aplomb in each dialect because ... well ... because he's Vin Diesel, okay? Okay!

@Drum18 i was just teasing I mena i knew they had him say the line multiple times to emote different feelings, I just was saying that maybe in GotG2 he can have new lines

I thought he was going to have a line at the end of the movie.

Also dancing Baby Groot would be so funny if they gave him Vin Diesel's voice
