I remember MEHDI posting that the 7.1 was really hard to get now and they were putting them to bed for an unknown time...WAY back in AUGUST last year..."Thanks for the advise buddy":scat: I hit the trade trail and ebay and picked up what was around and now ive got them in my storage shelf..
IM not braging or anything but its a lesson for a lot of the new collectors that have joined HDN...Read all the forums and listen to the guys in that country (cause there in the stores and can see what is and isn't going out).
Don't be afraid to SPECULATE to ACCUMULATE..and happy hunting.

I actually have two sets, one opened and one sealed. Unfortunately sets are a little pricey. But for these steels I don't mind. A third set may be on the horizon for me. If its at the right price.

The Harry potter set is still among my most prized steelbooks

I'm really glad I opened one set. It was the steels that got me in the game. I just enjoy the full experience from opening them. Truly beautiful. I'm gonna end up with a room full of them :scat:

One day I'll post a pic of a stand with nothing but Harry potter sets :hilarious:

I just can't bring myself to opening them, but also one day I may end up with the wizards set making me have 4 totatl sets of the Harry's

The shelf may not have gotten me into the game as I had started collecting steelbooks a few months before I knew about the FS Harry's and plans for the shelf. But the shelf did firmly plant me into collecting.

I remember my scrambling on another forum trying to get one, with an unreliable source who couldn't guarantee me a copy then pretty much joining this forum in August (when the shelf was coming out in december) so that I could begin getting this. I recall some of my earliest posts here were about getting the shelf and if I may admit :emb: being somewhat of one of those people that joins forums to use the trading thread to see about getting one.
Which thanks to Drum and his massive groupbuy with 2 seperate trips, first to get the movie and then to get the shelf a month later with a 9 hour steelshelf run, I got my set and all has been right in my world since :hilarious:

I remember my sister had to go to like 3 stores to find this one for me last Summer when she put the set together, i paid for the first 6 and she gave me the last 2 as a birthday gift.

Looks awesome when you finish the set.

Back in December, my wife (helper back in those days) remembered me this "event" and asked if we were doing the same this year! :hilarious:

Run across Montreal to get those damn boxes (shelves)... memories... :p

I can't bring myself to open my set. It's my favourite thing i own. Was responsible for getting me hooked on steels, all in pursuit of this grail.
I was close to opening, but I even like the look of the few stickers that are on them.

I'm an opener myself, I have only one still sealed steelbook that I bought just yesterday (Green Lantern G2 Best Buy I already had the G1 but simply could not pass up on getting this for $5 as they are doing there trade and save again you bring in a used dvd and get $5 off a bluray $9.99 or higher, and I have some dvds in my glove compartment just for this mostly dvds that have been upgraded to blurays. But with me already having an open copy and knowing they have no inside artwork I figured keep it sealed. I wanna know if they will do the trade and save on online orders if I order it in store as then I could get the Superman Returns for $5).

I like to see the inside artwork and I plan on watching the movies so they all get opened.

That was a very nice run you made. I remember being either like 6 or 8 on the GB list of like 40 and even with that number I was still worried whether or not I would get it. I also remember following the thread at work that day and seeing your updates of people being very happy after the first stop, so then I knew I was safe

Its funny cause it turned out to not be rediculously rare. I even got my second set in July 2012 when I went to canada, with a little help on Hp 7.1 and 7.2

I upgraded my superman returns DVD to the steelbook version.

You keep DVDs in your glove compartment, where else do you keep them :naughty:

Yep same here, I joined the site around the same time too and joined the same legendary GB and got all the Harry Potter movies and the shelf together. Love it, it's awesome.

to be fair my source on the other forum neve scammed me, he just couldn't guarantee even going down that day and was somewaht wishy washy on when he could get there so I went with the sure bet

but whats with the buzz all of a sudden with the HP set and box. Not that there's anything wrong with that

Just the ones I plan on trading, the problem was I would always forget to take them with me so I started stashing them in my glove compartment so I wouldn't forget them. I am training for a half ironman so most days I am on my bicycle and I only drive the car once maybe twice a week. So if I forget the movies to trade its like SOB with lots of curse words as it will be several more days before I have the car again and that sucks on a Tuesday when you know you have to be there right when they open in case they sell out and now your out the trade and save. So there is always a handful of dvds in my glove compartment now haha

I was #6 on the list you were dead last at 28 on the reserve list :hilarious:

I open all my steelbooks as a general rule. As soon as they come I crack them open haha
But I've already got these so many times I figured I might as well keep them sealed. But saying that I don't plan on ever selling them so it's fairly pointless.
