I think its fantastic he has good inside info and a good relationship with Zavvi. It helps people like us on the forum with invaluable information which I for one really appreciate.

The put back on the dates was due to the supplier as per email and not because of some bloke on a forum.

Basic rule of retail screw as much out of everybody as quickly as you can. Do you really think zavvi postponed the release of a major quadrilogy because a few blokes on a forum were finding it a bit tight this month. Big LOL..............

Wreck has been instrumental in working with retailers like Zavvi & Play in the past for the benefit of collecters on this forum so it's entirely plausible imo.

There are a few reasons for the push back, one being the "main" reason ... and then helping folks out with release dates is secondary .... sure.

Sure, I am not the sole reason why this got pushed back and didnt even do anything in regards to it ... but if everything was still ont he same date I would still be pushign to get something pushed back ... and I'm sure Zavvi would have worked something out in that regard. This was just a kill two birds with one stone situation so its worked out in everyone's favor.

I can tell you first hand that in 2012 Play.com staggered many release dates solely for the reason of making it easier on us collecting blokes on the forums. ;) So it is a very real sales strategy that does exist and I'm sure will soon exist in Zavvi's 2013 plans.

No different then theatrical and home media street dates being strategically decided and moved around ....

ps. I believe you will all see the Indy's again live in July.

I cant say much on it, sorry. But they arent being canceled and there hasn't been an increase of print run. So just relax and chat up about the Indy goodness that is of steels to come!

same here, I'm glad these were put back a little bit, give me wallet a chance to recover.

Just wish they'd get this up for order so I can relax once I've got the set

God Damn collectors OCD :hilarious:

so will existing pre-orders be cancelled & you'll have to re-order??
(obviously i mean on the idiana's that were up for pre-order

Held off buying the box set of this until the price dropped. Glad I did now so I can get the steelbooks instead. Didn't manage to pre-order before they took them down. Hoping they re-up them soon so I can secure my pre-order. Great movies!

I'm glad these are being pushed back.gives my bank balance more of a break, from being battered by steelbook orders.not complaining though ;)

I don't see the need for pushing back release dates.

How many people buy straight from their bank account using a debit card ?

You have to be pretty dumb to do that seeing as you lose all of the online protection that exists for credit card transactions.

Or is it that people don't realise a debit card transaction online offers you only the bare minimum of protection ?

Seeing as interest rates are so low at the moment (although admittedly higher for credit cards) why not just stick them all on a credit card and pay it off over a few months if you find yourself stretched ?

You don't see the need cos YOU have no problem with the money going out right now.
Are you buying all of them?

A lot of people see the need cos there are a lot of people who want a lot of steelbooks who don't want the money going out all at once only for them to keep releasing more steelbooks every month.
Some people are even dumb enough not to want to be in debt.

How many people pay using a debit card? Good question, do you know the answer? cos it sounds like you're just assuming.
I don't even have a credit card but I've had no problems using a debit card which I am covered for but not only that, I use paypal with Zavvi anyway, so I think they will cover me.

I have money saved up, I could keep spending but I like to have a break so i'm glad they pushed it back.

The number of people who pay using a debit card is immaterial, because how ever many or few they may be, it is an entirely valid option. What irks is the assertion that those that choose this option are part of the Stupid Club.

I have not had a credit card for quite some time, and I doubt I ever will again, and it's an entirely personal thing.

As Zavvi no longer accept payment by empty promises, my debit card will have to do.

I'd argue that a person who brands another stupid simply because they choose to pay their own way, is more stupid than the people he is branding such.

I pay on debit card for everything and why shouldn't I? What, Amazon, Zavvi and big companies of their ilk are going to screw me out of my money? I think not, I'd rather pay with the money I have than put it in to a credit card and risk running up debt just because "it's stupid not to"

Think before you make such a broad statement next time, it helps :)

Not everyone has the ability to get a credit card in the first place and so they will make do with a debit card in most instances

And many people may have maxed out on their credit cards if they have them

No need to be branding your fellow collectors dumb, they might just start presuming things about you too. Anyway, looks like you've made a few friends off the back of your comment so I won't labour the point any more

I remember my economics teachers both in high school and college advising all of us to avoid a credit card like a plague.

Right now I can't use my debit card, so my bank offered me a credit card. Needless to say, I rejected the offer without thinking twice. Credits cards are a gateway to debt, unless you are responsible, though many ppl are not. I would rather live within my means.

So true. The other scenario I left out is that many people choose not to have a credit card. And wisely.

Anyway guys...back on topic!! ;)
