Opinions eh.. funny old things.

I absolutely loved it, very meta in places commenting on both sequels in general and the modern audiences expectations of contemporary cinema (the I-Rex being the perfect example of this) whilst finding time to reference the original and be an enjoyable movie. Definitely a Spielbergian 80's core, particularly with the utterly brutal kill that stayed with me all the way to the credits. Definitely agreed that the main cast never ever seemed in danger, but on the flip side the Dinosaurus's actually seemed dangerous (as opposed to the male-pattern baldness raptors, and overly dramatic Spinosaur of JP3).

On a footnote - Christ Pratt dialled down Starlord, with any luck he's on his way to becoming our new Dr Henry Jones.

Did anyone else spot the few Easter egg type appearances of Ian Malcoms book during the movie? Not wanting to soil things and say where but it is a blink an you'll miss it kinda thing.

I really hope this is going to have a glossy finish and debossing like the other Jurassic releases. I can't stand odd ones out in series. I'm glaring at you, Mockingjay Part 1's spine....

Whichever way you look at it this it's going to be another "Fury" - eBay premium sellers camped out the shop on a Monday morning ready to empty the shelves. Not moaning, is what it is... I'll just have to pre-order. Just feel sorry for people who would maybe start collecting on the basis of this, but won't get a chance unless they pay ££££. Like @monkeyspinach said I hope they use the JP steels as a base and move on from there - a little consistency would be nice especially as the original steels are so nice (apart from the weird traced T-Rex on the back of JP1 which oddly has the same teeth as the I-Rex... have a look).

This steelbook will be released in many countries, most likely as it's a Universal release, all will have the same WWA.

Fury on the other hand was exclusive artwork to HMV with debossing and not available anywhere else in the world.

There's already German, French, Czech etc... releases announced for this. Only difference being the inclusion of 3D (which doesn't bother many)

Unless the design/artwork is exclusive to HMV, I'm sure there will be enough of these to go around on release day as non UK residents can pick them up from other countries .

i saw the film and really enjoyed it. but it has its flaws.

SPOILERS

did any tourist/visitor actually die? because when i think about it, it seems it was only jurassic world staff who were killed in all the chaos. i mean, it was only the escaped pteranodon- type birds that actually posed any threat to the crowd of tourists, and they were conveniently just small enough to cause fear and a little harm, but not big enough to kill or fly away with a visitor. sure a few were picked up, but were dropped after being lifted a few feet into the air. Laughably, the only fatality that was shown in all that havoc, was of a staff member.

it would seem in order to be a family film, no 'innocent' people can die, which seems to suggest that all that staff who did die, deserved it, or the audience wouldnt be sympathetic. which is weird. it does ruin it a bit for me, not because i want to see innocent people to die, but because it destroyed any realism and sense of disaster the film was trying to portray, it is a monster movie but the monsters were restricted to killing other dinosaurs and staff.

Lol! That's one way of looking at it :D

I guess the moral of the story is:

All In-Gen staff must die!!!! Like part 2 also!!
