Is the 2D & 3D versions of the movie on separate discs? If there on the same disc some quality loss could be as a result of compression which is why I always prefer the studio's put 2D & 3D be on separate discs.

Separate discs. I watched the 2d disc. Next time I'll try the 3d disc with the tv forcing it to 2d mode to see if it got a higher bitrate.

Has anyone watched the movie? Just finished the French version. I found the movie to be pretty good, not the best movie ever made though. Thought the dts hd ma 7.1 track was boomtastic. Easily topping 7.1 Mbps in most scenes, it's a joy to listen to. On the other hand, I found the picture quite lacking. Didn't get the pop of hd that I'm used to on my big plasma. Perhaps the low bit rate averaging 15 Mbps and rarely topping 20 Mbps and some scenes as low as 6 Mbps on a avc encode was to blame????

Interesting to hear some opinions.

I found it reproduced the exact same experience I had watching it on cinemas. For me, HD is being true to the source and showing me the same thing I get on a movie theater, and this one nailed it. No lack of details, no compression artifacts, etc, etc. Imo, if it doesn't "pop" for you, might be due to the photography being as "peculiar" as all the Snyder films (all of the releases of his films always had some "but" as I recall). Agreed with you on the sound, it is just massive

In that case the quality should be pretty damn good.... I mean MoS was filmed/presented in quite a dark/grey tone... Maybe its throwing you off in thinking the quality's not so good?

Cant comment on it personally until I get my copy next month.

Got the french set. PiP extra comes on the digital copy with english audio and french sound. Now the problem to me is that this extra looks like a dvd in PQ when connected to my usual display so that is a bummer, but the extra itself is, as well as a lot of other PiP I've seen, pretty entertaining. French subs are included on it. Not burned but I couldn't for the life of me figure out a way to remove them.

As for the set, it is QUITE amazing, now when you enter my blu-ray collection area on the house it really makes you see it first thing. I guess the fact that the Superman symbol is the second most recognized symbol of the western world has something to do with it. To sum it up: Love it.

What type of digital copy is this? ITunes?
