Can we get a sticky for this? :D

What do ya'll prefer to drink? Beer, Wine, Hard Liquor, Wine Coolers? All of them?

I only drink Beer and Hard Liquor. Mint Mojito is about the only thing close to a wine cooler I'll drink though LOL

I dont think im irish i just think of it as a reason to leave work and go drink

Slightly related, but I found a place that's on my way home from work that stocks Founder's.

Alpha I got some stuff to trade lol just let me know!!! i could probably send you some nemesis and kbs

the oatmeal stout and doublewide orange apa are carbing right now, I got 2 boulevard irish ales, and an EKU 28 ready to go, don't think I'll have apple cider for another 3 weeks, but I can send along some more boulevard stuff like their pale ale, and bully porter if that sounds interesting to you? Oh yeah they also had a 750 of doublewide IPA.. that stuff will tweak your buds for sure.

I am down for whatever. I like everything. how easy would it be to ship the 750. most of the stuff i ship will be long necks. have you ever had bourbon county stout from goose island?

Nope never tried that, I checked with my local store and they weren't aware of the goose island imperial you were talking about  why must my local retailers suck sooo bad.

Have you ever tried Darkforce?

The 750 wouldn't really be a big deal, I recently got a ton of great packing material from my recent northern brewer purchase so I can wrap it all up in bubble wrap. If I find a big enough cardboard box I'll be able to ship it all in an omaha steaks styrofoam cooler box, hopefully that'll help make things a bit more controlled temperature wise...

never tried darkforce. I have some 08 bourbon county stout. i still want to get some 09 in the 4 packs tho. I plan on getting night stalker sometime this week. just got an email that it was in. 9.99 for a 650ml bottle.

Sounds like we have a trade brewing, I'll be heading to the beer store tonight anyways so I'll pick up the darkforce and boulevards

Looks like I got so far:

2 oatmeal stouts
2 orange apas
2 boulevard irish ale
2 boulevard pale ale
2 boulevard bully porter
1 boulevard Doublewide IPA 750
1 Darkforce
1 EKU 28

am I missing anything?

I dont think so!!

I think my list is:

2 triple chocolate oatmeal stouts
2 dubbels
1 nemesis
1 KBS possibly 2. I just picked up two 4 packs today:D
1 bourbon county stout 08
1 Bell Batch 9000

then ill try and pick up some Night stalker for you.

Also if i can get single bottles:

09 bourbon county
Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree IPA
and a Hopslam

A wonderful thing happened this weekend. A 4-pk of KBS found it's way into my fridge. :scat: That stuff was so dark and heavy, it made Guinness taste like a light beer. The chocolate and coffee tones were really good too. I was really surprised to not see it head up when poured into the glass. Still good though.

yeah that KBS ain't no joke, I love that stuff.

I cracked into my Orange APA and my Oatmeal stout yesterday when some friends came by. Also sampled my experimental Apple-Raspberry wine.. despite being yeasty from it's youth it disappeared in a flash. Guess I'll have to make more. :D

The orange APA is good for a few and then the hops start to wear on your tongue a bit, but I was delighted for the most part that my Oatmeal Wheat Stout wasn't as obnoxious as I thought it'd be.

Ah, beer!

I'm a big fan of the stouts. We've got a few places around here that make some good ones (Schlafly and Morgan St.), but the KBS was probably the most stout that I've had so far. Morgan makes a good Irish Stout, but they have a new one that's really good that they call H2, which is an oatmeal stout. Schlafly makes a good Coffee Stout, and a few others. I really liked their Oatmeal stout that they aged in oak casks. I'm still wanting to try their Imperial Stout.

you were lucky to find that. most of the time they only sell you one or 2 bottles. But its one of my favorite beers for sure. I went and had some on tap saturday and it was fantastic. Also got to try some of Shorts Key Lime Pie. That stuff was really interesting. Tasted like key lime pie all the way to the crust.

Nice.

The place I got it from sold almost everything that Founder's made. The only one that I didn't see was Nemisis.

Nemesis is something you would have to ask for and is most likely gone. each store only got one case.

what kind of beer do you like?

A few of my favorites from Founders are:

Backwoods Bastard (bourbon barrel aged scotch ale) comes out in the fall.
Double Trouble (Double IPA)
Breakfast Stout (pretty much the same as KBS without the bourbon)
Curmudgeon (old ale)
Imperial Stout

I would say check out anything from them.

I picked up a six of the Green Flash IPA on friday from my local specialty beer store. I gave the store a good look-over but there was nothing from Founders anywhere :(

I also brewed a pale ale a few days ago and used those new Sorachi Ace hops. They are wonderful! They weren't kidding when they said there was a lemony aroma to them. I think I would enjoy a pale/IPA made solely with sorachi ace hops. However, I only used them as bittering hops due to their 12.5% AA so I'm not sure how much flavor I'll be getting from these guys this go 'round. Hops direct does have them though, if I had a vaccum sealer, I would buy a pound of these in a hearbeat.
