Can we get a sticky for this? :D

What do ya'll prefer to drink? Beer, Wine, Hard Liquor, Wine Coolers? All of them?

I only drink Beer and Hard Liquor. Mint Mojito is about the only thing close to a wine cooler I'll drink though LOL

Made a huge IPA yesterday. Overshot my gravity and ended up with 1.060 :D Used 4 ounces of hops in the boil, 2 more planned for dry hopping:

1 ounce Chinook - 60 mins
1 ounce Amarillo - 30 mins
1 ounce Centennial - 15 mins
1 ounce Centennial - 5 mins

1 ounce Chinnook and 1 ounce Centennial for dry hopping, this could be the masterpiece :D:D:D

I am so excited for this its been a few months in the making!!!

MacDaddy that looks pretty effin hoppy, I'm actually curious to see how it turns out!

How come splax gets to go on all the cool beer trips? DAMNIT MAN!

My orange pale ale was demolished on my birthday. 5 Gallons of beer gone in 2 hours. Then people wanted to start drinking 24oz glasses of 14% apple cider. Fortunately, they were courteous enough to puke in the grass and not on the deck.

The math comes out to 80 IBU's, should be pretty similar to Sierra Nevada Celebration I think. A bit hoppier, but fairly similar. I also used a pound of crystal 80, half-pound of carapils, and 12 lbs of two row base. Never used carapils but its supposed to give a nice fluffy head that sticks around for a while. The next 5 weeks are going to be slow :( It smells glorious inside the closet where the primary is though!

I do have a nice saison that will be ready in about 1.5 weeks to help me through :D

I had some fun with a pick your own 6 pack deal at my local place. Thanks to getting sent out of town for work unexpectedly, I've only been able to drink one. This is what I picked up:

Schlafly Coffee Stout
Breckenridge Oatmeal Stout
Bell's Brewery Double Cream Stout
Founder's Breakfast Stout
Founder's Backwoods Bastard (Oak cask aged ale)
Old Rasputin Imperial Russian Stout

The Schlafly is gone and it was really good.

12% alcohol with caffine and other stuff and its only $3.

anyone find me some up in here in canada? :D

Some Boulevard news from lukasliquorsstl.com!

Boulevard Smokestack Series Four Packs
This is exciting. Up until now they were only available in 750 mL bottles, but now Boulevard has decided to release four of the Smokestack offerings in four packs of twelve ounce bottles. Choose from Tank 7, Dark Truth Stout, Sixth Glass and Double Wide IPA, or get one of each from our giant build-your-own department!

Not trying to, did ban... the FDA said that caffeine and alcohol was no longer safe to market. Their warning letter also said that if they continue to sell it then they will face legal penalties:ohno: I never had the stuff anyways so I dont really see it as a big deal, but thats why its $3!!!

Next the FDA will ban Redbull because tons of people like to take it after all kinds of shots.... sheesh

That's ridiculous IMO, it's just like any other liquor that gets sold in the U.S. It makes you drunk. I bet there are drinks out there that exceed the 12%. That decision is sort of short sighted.

It wasnt because of the 12%, it was becuase it had caffeine mixed in as well. I also think its silly.... people could always pop some nodos if they want to still get their caffeine while drinking

I found some four loko at my gangsta licka sto' while at band practice. I had to grab a few cans since they were selling banned alky.

Tastes like ****.

Brewing double chocolate cherry stout soon.

......that is all.

I saw a gas station with a big sign for it on my way in yesterday. Not too interested in picking any up.

Looks like I'll be joining the home brew ranks around Christmas. Diva is getting me a home brew setup as my gift. Now all I have to do is find some inexpensive glass carboys and a brew pot.

www.austinhomebrew.com

They have glass carboys at resonable prices, but you can still pay only flat rate shipping, even if you get a big-ass carboy :D It works out pretty well, I still get stuff from there occasionally.

You can get a whole startup kit from them that includes glass carboys if you want, it's worth checking into

This is the place I'm looking at: http://www.homebrewery.com/ It's kinda local, and a friend of mine gets all of his stuff from there. He recently upgraded to the keg set up.

I'm also looking around at local grocery stores to see if they have the glass carboys that they'd be willing to give up. I've been told that you can just walk in grab one and just pay for the deposite, which is less than what you'd have to pay at a brew store. All I've seen so far have been the plastic ones.

Better Bottles aren't a bad gig. I have 3 of them and never had any issues. After racking out of them I just shake some hot water around to get out the loose chunks then fill it up with hot water and 4-5 tablespoons of PBW and let it soak. When my other fermenter is done I just rack the PBW from the one bottle to the next and keep rotating it until the solution turns a dirty greenish color and make a new batch. Usually can stretch it for a good 5 batches or so. Works like a champ.

Grats on your homebrew level up!
