Glad to see Mark Muñoz back on his game. I think his brutal loss against Chris Weidman affected him mentally. Though, now he's back in shape and his victory tonight proved it.

Tim Kennedy's performance was superb. I thought his short reach would cost him the fight. At first it looked like Roger Gracie was in control, but TK proved more skillful.

Anyone else think Jake Ellenberger is underrated? I know he has been yearning for a title shot.

I can not believe what I witnessed, it feels so unreal. AS's reign is over.
I was expecting an epic clash, but it was the opposite. Is it right for me to feel cheated?
Why did AS attempt to play mind games with CW? He's done it before, but it was consistently a risk. I believe AS's plan was to infuriate CW, causing him to waste punches and kicks. It appeared the former champ was going to pull it off as before. Heck, even I am guilty of cheering him on. Though, CW kept his head in the game and proved victorious.

AS's speech made the night weird? I got the impression he was going to retire. He said he doesn't want a rematch, and won't be going after the title.
Does this mean he'll move up in weight? He still has 10 more obligated fights. He said many more things that left me and the fans wondering. I did like the part of the speech when AS said he worked so hard to keep the title, but now he's tired, and CW is the new champion. I don't know why but that made me like him again.

In the end, I do feel AS cheated his fans by not focusing on the fight completely. Though, is it possible that CW really is a superior fighter. I know CW won, but I doubt he'll be able to keep the belt as long as AS. What's next for AS?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I trained hard for this fight," Silva said. "I changed my life. I changed the life of my family. Chris Weidman tonight is the champion. Chris is the best.

"I won't fight [again] for the belt. I had the belt for a long time."

Silva will, however, fulfill his UFC contractual obligation.

"I have 10 more fights [with UFC], but not [necessarily] for the belt."

Silva falls to 33-5 as a pro.

Losing the way he did is a shame. If he is to fight the remaning fights he has on his contracts like that, it'd have been a lot better if he hadn't renewed his contract and picked the fight with Jon Jones. Then that would.Bse the fight.

AS would have won imo if it wasn't for playing around and trying to bait Weidman, Weidman didn't look great either and looked a bit tired in the 2nd rnd, If Silva doesn't want the rematch Machida should drop and take the title, it also seems like Silva doesn't care much that he lost and I think he's happy that the pressure of being champ is finally off him.

I personally think Silva will move to 205 and destroy the division on the way to a Bones title match.

Hopefully, even if she has stated it was in his gameplan, this will result in a more focused and serious fighting style from Silva.

No more playing around just brutal destruction.

That's what you get when you showboat, Silva has all the talent and skills and being cocky got him knockout. But he's the only one that can have 2 mega fights, first St-Pierre then go up to Jones.

In Silva's post fight interview he said he doesn't want to fight for the belt, he is basically saying he is fed up with the pressure of being champ and all the press and media that comes with it, and has said he wants to spend more time with his family, he even said he is tired so I doubt he fights for any belt again and tbh I think jones would probably just take him down and gnp him and I doubt the GSP fight gets made either, I think he will just take another 2 or 3 fun fights and call it a day.

The jones and GSP fight won't get made anyway as its not a super fight any more as Silva has already lost and lost his belt, it would be kind of pointless now

I like Silva, but damn that was a fail on epic proportions lol If you are showboating make sure you don't get KO'd!

@Scarface - I agree, he seemed uninterested in his last few fights because well we can all agree that most of his opponents were not even on his level. With that being said, maybe this loss will serve better for him since the pressure is now off his shoulders.

Jones, GSP and Silva are still the 3 top dogs in UFC. Mega fights means mega money, Silva said he doesn't want to fight for the belt but we all know that money talks. If Silva will only fight 2 to 3 times at least he should cash in, he deserve it.

apparently Dana is wanting to have Weidman v Silva 2 on DEC 28 at UFC 168

3 last fights, Weidman rematch, GSP and then Jones. It's all on Silva to show up and perform, show up as a great fighter not as a clown.

MF got hit by a f@$^ing 2x4, it's no surprise he got knocked out.
The other brawlers are cowards. They brutally beat MF's friend after he went unconscious. They left the poor guy in intensive care. This will surely affect his career.

That was brutal punching the hell out of that guy after getting knocked out, what a scumbag, Falcao might of been drunk because after the 1st punch he received he was staggered surprisingly, and he didn't even look like he could fight properly

^^Harassing a women is one thing, but beating a man to near death is a completely different subject.

MF didn't even throw the first punch.

Not only did harassed her, he also hit her in the face. Why? Only because she didn't like his approach? What kind of man is that that can't accept a 'no' or whatever she told him?

I'm not saying that almost killing him is justifiable, but he is suppopsed to be intelligent enogh to know what happens when you treat (some) women like that.
