Release from January 6,2011:

"The most anticipated Blu-ray release ever -- the Star Wars Saga -- emerges from light speed this September 2011. For the first time, all six of George Lucas' epic films (Episodes I-VI) are united in one complete set. Fans worldwide are able to pre-order now with online retailers.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release Star Wars in three distinct sets to meet the needs of every Star Wars fan:

Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray (9-disc Set includes all six films)
Star Wars: Prequel Blu-ray Trilogy (3-disc set includes Episodes I-III)
Star Wars: Original Blu-ray Trilogy (3-disc set includes Episodes IV-VI)
Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray will feature all six live-action Star Wars feature films utilizing the highest possible picture and audio presentation, along with three additional discs and more than 30 hours of extensive special features including never-before-seen deleted and alternate scenes, an exploration of the exclusive Star Wars archives, and much more.

Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray will be available for $139.99 US/$179.99 CAN and the Star Wars: Trilogy Sets for $69.99 US/89.99 CAN. Pricing for each set will vary by international territory.

Flanked by a legion of his finest Imperial stormtroopers, Darth Vader himself joined Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment President Mike Dunn at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to announce the release, vowing "The forces of the Empire will be at your disposal to assure the success of this endeavor."

"The Star Wars Saga is the most anticipated Blu-ray collection since the launch of the high-def format," Dunn said. "The epic franchise pioneered sound and visual presentation in theaters and is perfectly suited to do it again in the home, with a viewing experience only possible with Blu-ray."

"With all six episodes available for the first time in one collection, this is a great way for families and home audiences to experience the complete Saga from start to finish," said Doug Yates, Vice President of Marketing, Online, Distribution, Lucasfilm Ltd. "And with the quality of high-definition, Blu-ray provides the most immersive home experience possible."

"The Star Wars franchise has been the most anticipated Blu-ray release by Amazon's customers," said Bill Carr, Vice President of Music and Video at Amazon.com. "We think that Star Wars will be incredibly popular with our customers, and we expect pre-orders to be very strong.""

Thanks Dave S @ TBS.

I ordered the whole set as well, and plan on watching them all! The prequels can't be compared to the originals, but I'm sure they will look and sound great in HD :D

I cancelled my pre-order as I intend to wait for a price drop.

Ive heard to many people complain of diff forums about tranfers, added CGI etc, etc.........

But I will get the complete saga.

watching as type Return of the Jedi

very good PQ/AQ remains (at least pleases me)

Wicket blinks is not to complain as commented, I believe not all ewoks do the blink (I'm at the moment when Lukes tells Leia about Vader)
at Speeder Bikes chase background looks so fake

just finished in resume I can say I'm pleased and now I can die in peace, lol

As part of the benefits we have in México is that there is no order when release date is set, mixup and Costco have the 3 sets for sale now at stores.

I'm part of a party that will share a 50% coupon at Blockbuster and I will wait for the release over there.

Although im getting mine at AMZ, Best Buy has a star wars film cell card you get with pre-order. For $5 I said what the hell and got it ... Ill put it inside my saga edition.

Ditto. This is sad, as Star Wars original trilogy are my all-time favs. I just been deterred a bit with these damn changes lucas keeps making to my childhood memories.

I know, but I'm hoping I wont notice all the stuff much and enjoy it like I enjoy most movies people hate on. haha. So far the only thing I even heard about was the "Noooooooooooooooo" so yeah, hoping the rest I wont even notice.

does anybody know if these sets are region free, i want to get the us/canada version cause the boxset design is far superior the english looks cheap and tacky. i was annoyed about the changes in the film, but i'm pi**ed off at the cheap packaging the uk gets, especially considering it'll cost more over here then in the us. to import the set from amazon.com works out at £54.69(including postage, which btw works out cheaper than the uk version at £69.99) so i want to know if i can import the set and if the discs will play on my uk ps3

I got my complete set with 50% off I paid about $71 USD, did not like the UK case, mybe will sell it to one of the offcie pals monday and wait for Sanish subs on the USA box + english crawl....

Some of the minor changes i probably won't notice, but there's no way to miss puppet Yoda being replaced by c.g.i. and of course the one you mentioned, Vader screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ok,
the Best Buy collection is going to have a T shirt with it, price is going to run 89.99, the Target collectors edition is going to have Lithographs price is going to be 79.99...............

i want the T shirt :D lol

the noooooo sucks but yoda is fine, the puppet looked sooo out of place in the original version of tpm

I just hope the c.g.i. is better done for Yoda than it was in the prequals. I thought the puppet looked way more realistic than what the ugly and completely fake looking c.g.i. version did.
