My first problem with play.com ... A friend of mine in the UK placed an order for me on December 15 and hasn't received nothing yet. I've asked him yesterday about the status of the order and he said it appears that the items were dispatched from play. Is this delay normal during the holiday season (almost 3 weeks now) ?

I don't think it's normal but I can imagine it might happen with the Christmas post. It will probably just be delayed.

play.com send me "card declined" for my Battle Royale Order, never had this problem before and its 100% enough money on my wirecard. what can i do? im really mad right now

I had this problem when trying to pre-order Lawless. The card declined e-mail came through 24 hours after the order was placed using the card that had been stored on my account for the past 3 years. I placed the order again and the same happened. I contacted PlayComHelp through twitter and also e-mailed them directly. Both assured me that the order had gone through..lets hope so!

Not really, Rakuten could have just changed Play.com's name to Rakuten.com without shutting down a whole retail empire

That wasn't really the point, AgentMcQueen's post was inferring Rakuten had closed Play to then open their own site, I was pointing they could have just renamed Play.com to do that

with the annoucment of play.com shuting its doors due to the vat loop hole been closed it doesnt look good for the prices of steelbooks etc HMV are always dearer than play usually,also play wasnt the only online retailer shipping from there and using the loop hole so it will be interesting to see if certain other retailers prices now go up due to this loop hole been closed


i will certainly miss play i've always had good service from them

It's too bad, play released so many great steelbooks in such a short period of time, and always each of them had very nice clean artworks often with debossed/embossed finish and what is most importantly this all was in reasonable price, and now will be end
I'm only glad that I managed to bought part of play released steelbooks.

Just when I started collecting steels this happened need to learn about buying them from abroad etc!!
