its for the INSIGNIA NS-WBRDVD2 the wireless modelJust received mine today and tried doing the firmware update and it was a no go, it keep giving me Internal Error 3000
i formatted my usb from FAT32(which didn't work) to just FAT and still nothing. the hack didn't work either when i just plugged it inits for the INSIGNIA NS-WBRDVD2

Should i go for RF-NS-BRDVD4 ($59.99) or RF-NS-BRDVD2($49.99) ? Both are refurbished
Seems like RF-NS-BRDVD2 has built in wi-fi whereas RF-NS-BRDVD4 doesn't!
i will try this and see how it goes........

the update that pops up is the older firmware that was on the link from steelbook86 and it shows that the update is going from newer to older firmware(from my USB), and thats as far as i get.
i downloaded the firmware directly to my harddrive and then pasted to my USB stick and that solved the Problem.Glad to know that. All MAC's in the house here :roll eyes:Glad to know that. Thanks a lot to both of you for suggestion and implementationI'm supposed to get this player in a couple of weeks

I popped in Justified and saw an episode, let me tell you what, I wasnt that impressed. I mean its a budget player for sure but the ps3 is miles away from this one. The quality on the ps3 is just much better, the color were more vibrant and the black's were awesome. On the insignia the blacks looked like it had a haze of grey it just wasnt all that, some what dull. I wanted to use the insignia for all time viewing but it looks like ill be sticking with my ps3 and using the insignia for region locked titles. For $50 bucks I guess its an ok player plus its region freeI popped in Justified and saw an episode, let me tell you what, I wasnt that impressed. Yes YMMV![]()

dont forget that the PS3 has more Video Processing then the Insignia. like HDMI Full, RGB, Super White to name a few. Do some testing and you'll see some differences. at first i thought maybe my Custom settings for my TV weren't on but i checked and the option are the same. Hope to hear from your testing
