I've just been told by zavvi that the £6 deposit you pay when ordering all 6 with the dredd bagde is non refundable. So be careful

I'm wondering when this becomes zavvi's standard practice what with all the preorders that are cancelled once a cheaper/better alternative is announced for most of their steelbook offerings via a European Amazon, mondo or film arena option (T3 and BBTF for example in recent weeks)

That only applies if you choose to order the dredd badge
Its not selected automatically you have to add it yourself if you want that option

Free Judge Dredd with Star Wars Steelbook Collection bundle.
Please note a £6 deposit will be taken at the time of purchase should you opt for this bundle.

When you click pre order Star Wars Complete Collection – Limited Edition Steelbooks it wont add to your basket the Dredd Badge to your basket

You have to then choose to separately add the Dredd badge for it to appear in your basket

If you don't add the Dredd Badge to your basket it wont be there and you won't have any £6.00 deposit taken

Which is why I said with the dredd badge!

I'm at odds if to keep my pre orders and wait for a price drop
I have at the moment on Pre Order with Amazon and Zavvi

I'm just waiting to see if Amazon UK price drops more before release date

The amount of countries and retailers in each country who are selling these Star Wars Steelbooks
The print run looks as if its huge
Japan alone are doing 10,000 of each steelbook that's 60,000 for all 6 steelbooks just for Japan itself

This has to be the biggest launch of a steelbooks range to date worldwide or does anyone know of a steelbook collection release that was bigger as I cant think of any unless Avengers was similar or close to as big

Amazon aren't taking orders now Paul.

Can't see it being sold out - in fact, I expect this will end up heavily reduced at Zavvi.

What I'm more interested in is which version it is.

Is it the one that we got in the trilogy Steelbook, or finally the restored but original version that so many want to see released on Blu -- 'self included.

I already have pre ordered with Amazon UK
The steelbooks most likely will come back available on Amazon as I doubt they sold all that fast their allocation they were given its possible but I doubt it

I would like to know what the overall print run for the UK/Ireland is
The print run would be shared between UK/Ireland retailers and each retailer given a allocation of that print run

The Discs are the same as the previous Blu-ray Discs trilogy steelbooks no difference the exact same

Given Japan's print run, I wouldn't be surprised at 20k as we are the centre of the steelbook universe - more sold here per head than anywhere else in the world.

Thanks for the info @Sigill, if these get a high gloss finish to go with their embossed titles then I think they might be a stunning collection if done properly, bare bones 1 disc though!!!!, still very tempted.

I'm afraid that's just wishful thinking, these will include the latest butchered releases found in every blu ray set. If the original versions were incoming on blu ray then the entire internet would have exploded by now and we wouldn't be having this conversation...

Looks like Amazon has sold out "for now" so can't see em dropping the price if they know these are selling well

@ChrisIW - Mmmm, seriously valid point. Still, I can dream :)
Its already been confirmed the Blu-ray Discs will be the same as before and no new extras with the steelbooks or with the complete saga box set

Its just New individual steelbooks for each film with same Blu-ray disc that's already released in the Trilogy Steelbooks
No new extras

The only change with the complete saga box set is the artwork that's also the same as before same previous 9 Blu-ray Discs
Note the complete saga box set with 9 Discs (6 Films on Blu-ray and 3 Extras Blu-ray Discs) are not steelbooks
No new extras

Fox still have distribution rights to the Star Wars Films 1-6 on DVD/Blu-ray until 2020
After 2020 Disney get the DVD/Blu-ray distribution rights of Star Wars films 1-3 and 5-6

Fox still retain the distribution rights to the original two Star Wars trilogies, currently owning permanent full distribution rights for the 1977 Star Wars film, while also holding the theatrical and home video distribution rights to Episodes I-III, V, and VI until May 2020.
Lucasfilm retains the television and digital distribution rights to all the Star Wars films except the original

With Fox owning permanent full distribution rights for the 1977 Star Wars film

Don't expect to see the original unaltered versions for a long time get a Blu-ray release

They will be even cheaper on ebay two weeks after the release. It will be flooded with these.

Amazon UK have the Star Wars steelbooks back available to pre order at £19.99
Amazon £20
HMV £20
Zavvi £22, there was a 10% of code

I thought that you were not allowed any price fixing, esp when amazon first had them up at £19, before pulling them. Think I will wait for the price reduction next year, not willing to pay more than £15 per steel.

I take it that the 4k steels for star wars will have all the heroes on the front of the steels, lol. I do like the artwork on these though.
