The Official SteelBook Custom Glossing thread!

Here us a slight guide to the way I glossed mine ok here's what I used

A gravity fed spray gun

Then I used some accelerator and clear coat which I use when I spray cars also added is a slight but if thinners I think it's 2 to 1

The steels are wiped over with cleaners I get rid of grime and oil that fingers can lea e and any oils

Then I spray it in a booth which is heated and has ventilation AND IS HEATED KNOWN AS AN OVEN
Basically it what I use to spray car bits

Then spray and leave them to harden at least a day and this will be hard enough to polish to

OH I FORGOTTO ADD A PICTURE OF THE HARDENER AND THE FACT I GET ALL KITTED UP LIKE WALTER WHITE FROM BREAKING BAD ....

WELL A BREATHING MASK AND OVERALLS AS THIS STUFF ISNT GOOD FOR BREATHING IN A CONFINED SPACE

Ok so I tried it out on 2 more steels. Oblivion and Black Hawk Down(Cause this one Kicks ass!!) Here are the Results

You guys rock! It makes even the most boring steelbook's look great.
But at the same time it's sad to see that even Joe Blow can make great looking gloss steelbook but Scanavo can't it appears.

Well these custom gloss designs looks so awesome i will try it myself . If i can pull same awesome work as you guys i would just need to able to design and print covers and voila, i would be able to make my own "Steelbooks" /Stickerbooks

One thing I have learned is to not going over the top with the coating. I am content with single coating as it gives a nice sheen without compromising the workmanship.

Great job compadre on BHD and Oblivion. That's how they should have looked in the first place.

I'm very Pleased with Oblivion, it adds Beauty to the colors and has a nice sparkling effect in good lighting. Tom Cruise also has a nice 3D effect with the gloss, like he's more on the foreground, very cool effect

Here is Robocop and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Very Satisfied how both turned out. Robocop looks awesome and it has this cool effect around the Mouth area Wolverine turned to be almost a completely Different steelbook. The Gloss added soo much to this great steel, the Claws and the X ray Skeleton looks badass!!!
